10 Feelings Every Student Had At The KU Vs. UK Game

It's been a year in the making while we waited to host The University of Kentucky and get our revenge. It had been a long week of lottery, camping, and trying to contain our excitement for one of the most exciting games of the season. There was nothing more rewarding than seeing your fellow fans and players with the biggest smiles on their faces.

1. Getting the chills when 16,300 people were cheering and jumping in unison.

It's one of the best sights in a college arena and something most people won't get to experience in their lifetime. Allen Fieldhouse is the best home court advantage in the NCAA, and it never gets old!

2. "I'm glad Bill laughed at Perry's free throw."

The first free throw of the game was not pretty! We all turned to see how Bill was going to react, and luckily, he was laughing, not angry.

3. "Why are you sitting during timeouts?!"

There was too much excitement to be sitting down! We had to keep the momentum going, and sitting down didn't help!

4. "These refs are going to blow it for us."

Let's not talk about this...

5. Both your heart and time stopped when Mason almost made the half court shot.

Nearing the end of regulation time, Mason puts up a half court shot that we all thought was going in. It seemed like an hour from when the ball left his fingertips to when it hit the rim.

6. Being on the verge of tears when KU was presented the original rules of basketball.

Not only was it amazing to be at the KU vs. UK basketball game, but those of us who attended got to witness one of the greatest moments in KU basketball history. James Naismith's official rules of basketball were presented to KU and brought back to where they belong.

7. You thought you were going to pass out.

The unbelievable amount of cheering, jumping, and sweating was a perfect equation for passing out. Luckily, most of us stayed upright!

8. "We may actually not walk away with this win."

We all had this thought at one point, even though we hate to admit it.

9. "BUT THIS IS ALLEN FIELDHOUSE... WE CAN'T LOSE!"

Let's be honest, we have an amazing home court advantage, and we don't lose here! We can't lose here!

10. Absolute and utter happiness when the clock hit 0:00 and we were the champions!

One of the greatest, most hyped-up rivalries had come to Lawrence. We had been waiting for this moment forever. Our whole Saturday was centered around this amazing game... AND WE WON! The feeling of having that win under our belts and being the champions of an outstanding game was a feeling we will hold onto forever.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
