There are always the times when you are starving but you want to stay on your health kick, so it becomes a struggle to find the right type of food. It is hard to find those types of food at college that are going to satisfy your hunger and keep you on the right track of eating healthy.

1. Kiwi

It is overall a very pretty fruit, and it is full of protein and juices to quench your hunger for a healthy snack. It is an easy item to find at a dining hall too.

2. Smoothies

Smoothies are a great refreshing treat to have as a meal or a heavy snack after a tough workout. Adding any type of fruits or veggies to a smoothie will taste great with some almond milk and almond butter!

3. Dark chocolate

I definitely have a sweet tooth, and dark chocolate is my absolute favorite. Eating some semisweet chocolate will not only make you feel good, but it lowers blood pressure and the risk of heart disease.

4. Avocado

Avocado toast is my new obsession, and it is the best breakfast to pair with either a smoothie or a bowl of fruit. Unlike most fruits, it is full of healthy fats instead of carbs, and they are also just delicious and can be added to any meal for a richer taste.

5. Eggs

Eggs are another food I love to pair with my avocado toast. Fried or scrambled, eggs are delicious. They are a healthy and filling option for breakfast or lunch!

6. Almonds

Almonds are an easy snack to carry around and they are surprisingly very filling for how small they are. Almond butter is also a great substitute for peanut butter.

7. Kale

Kale is my absolute favorite, and people who don't like it just haven't had it prepared the right way. It is delicious in salads or to put on your sandwiches. It is full of fiber and a number of nutrients.

8. Oranges

Oranges are a great snack that is high in fiber and antioxidants. And if you played soccer when you were younger, it will bring back memories of always having orange slices after a game.

9. Cucumbers

Cucumbers are a great source of nutrients, and they are a great ingredient to put on a sandwich or salad. They can also be eaten plain for a snack with hummus or just some salt and pepper.

10. Quinoa

Another favorite dish that I love to eat when I am home. Quinoa is high in nutrients like fiber and magnesium. It is also an excellent source of plant-based protein. It is a great pairing with chicken and a kale salad!

Filling yourself up with healthy and feel-good foods will make you feel better inside and out. It may be easier to just grab some chips when you want a little snack, but putting in the extra effort to pick out veggies or fruits instead will make you feel better in the long run.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
