Maybe you're like me, a neutral colored minimalist to heart, and drop tears at the thought of losing beautiful A-Line peacoats and mock necks. It's true, fall/winter season is over, and so hails the end of the great reign of dressing in all black. But to be honest, I've been missing the pastels and florals too. This winter was a little too bipolar and long for us not to wish for warmer seasons. Our wish has been granted; have you gone outside today? It's beautiful! And with this change in weather brings in an avalanche of new trends and styles to celebrate warm colors and skin showing. We all knew that trends recycle, but I don't think anyone expected so many styles to come back from the 70's. Maybe the upheaval in the world has brought out the loose and hippie in all of us.
1. Lace-up

I say updated because the world has changed; we need clothing that fits in with the high tension, high speed tech world we've created. We brought back bell bottoms, but we brought them back with symmetry, lines, and elegance.
3. Shoulders and collar bones

Who knows why we find collar bones sexy, but we do. Off the shoulders can look so innocent and intoxicating at the same time. And cut out shoulders just look badass no matter how you look at it. Who knows why this style from the 90's is on its way back, but we love it because it should've never left.
4. Denim on denim on denim

Remember when denim on denim was barf worthy? It was practically the one golden rule that shan't be broken. But fashion never followed by the rules, and denim has made its way to the limelight for one simple reason: there are various different kinds of denim - light on dark denim can create the illusion of different fabrics. Overalls from our childhood is hitting the streets too, a casual staple that may be in our closets to stay. Next time, switch out a linen blazer for a denim one for a casual modernistic workplace look.
5. Lace and romance

Summer and sun is time to feel light and airy. Let your fabric maxi blow in the wind with the beach salt catching your hair, casually lifting the flower your loved one gently put in your hair. Make this summer a romantic one with a lot of love and a lot of lace.
6. Suede and leather

More a winter trend, but we've updated suede so we can wear it in the summer too. Short button down A-Line suede/denim skirts was a huge thing last year, and if you look closely you'll find people sneaking it back out for this summer.
7. Floral and elegant tie-dye print

Remember making tie dye shirts back in 8th grade science class? The point was to learn about how chemicals and fibers bind with one another to create beautiful patterns, but the shirt you created just looked like a tacky rendition of the 70's hippie trend. Well we brought tie dye back, but with elegance. Carefully created patterns and designs can make tie dye look as regal and unique as a Qipao.
8. Crops and skin

There's nothing lovelier than feeling the warmth of a young, yellow sun gently kissing your bare skin. So even if you're shy, don't be shy enough to miss out on this year's crop top trend. Pair a basic black crop tank with harem pants to get a wanted street look without attracting too much of the wrong attention.
9. Nautical stripes

Everything is about the ocean in the summer. Bring those stripes to the workplace for a reminder that you're always surrounded by ocean no matter how small you are. Pair your next pair of chino tan trousers with a loose-fitting striped button down tied at the waist and black suede heels for a feel good workplace outfit.
10. Ribbon ties and neck scarves

Add a ribbon or printed neck scarf to your simple outfit instead of jewelry for a perfect getaway outfit. Or wrap a black ribbon bow tied around the back to your simple shift dress for a cinched fitted look. Or if you're looking for something more edgy, add a leather choker or black ribbon to a normal street outfit for a, "don't mess with me" vibe.
