10 Fandom Quotes That Get Me Through Life

We all have our favorite TV shows or movies we like to watch, and every now and then in life we might find ourselves quoting these shows or movies. So here are the top 10 quotes I find myself using more and more as my life goes on.

1. "Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it."

Dumbledore says this in 'Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire'. When I read this it reminds me that it's good for me to deal with something bad now and get it over with, because if I put it off and hide it, it is only going to feel so much worse in the end.

2. "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the light."

This is another Dumbledore quote from "Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban." When I have a bad day, I take a look at this picture and take a deep breath because I know even on my worst days I'll make it through and find the good.

3. "After all this time?" "Always."

This quote is from the very last "Harry Potter" book and takes place in a talk between Snape and Dumbledore. Snape tells Dumbledore he will always love Lilly. This is likely my most-used quote. After all, I do have the "Always" tattooed on my arm.

4. "When you're a kid, they tell you it's all... Grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that's it. But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better."

I have this quote pinned to my wall and in my phone just in case I need a pick me up. It's from "Doctor Who"! It let's me know that even though I'm working on all the things they "tell us" to do, it's OK to go off and try new things and see what else life has out there.

5. "You want weapons? We're in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!"

This is another "Doctor Who" quote. I love this one and I like to tell people who don't like reading that the things we can learn from books can be some of the most useful things we could use in life now or even later on down the line.

6. "The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things. But, vice versa — the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant."

This is from my favorite episode of "Doctor Who." I don't think I could explain this one anymore. It does a pretty good job of that itself.

7. "There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting."

This if from "Lord of The Rings." It reminds me that with everything that is bad going on in the word, that if I want it to change that I have to keep fighting no matter what and in the end will be worth it.

8. "All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost."

This quote is again from LOTR. It reminds me that not everything I find good in life has to be filled with richness. Even the smallest things can bring "gold" into my life, and even though I wander down paths of life different than others doesn't mean I'm lost, I'm just taking my own course.

9. "I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone."

This another one from "Lord of The Rings." I just started using this one in the last few months. I think it every time I look at my boyfriend.

10. "I'm gonna take care of you. I've got you. That's my job, right? Watch out for my pain-in-the-ass little brother?"

My last quote is from "Supernatural." This one, again, speaks for itself. My brother is so special to me and he means a great deal to me. I feel like it's my job to protect him no matter how much of a pain in my butt he is. I love him and he is my family.

In the end, these are all quotes that help me through some rough spots in life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
