I always hate staring out the window and seeing everyone wearing fashionable outfits—trendy, cute styles that I didn’t even know existed until this very moment—and realizing that the clothes that I have are way out of style. This year, I decided to change this, and do extensive research on what the fashion-savvy girls on campus will be wearing this fall. Pick a few off the list and stock up your wardrobe for the chilly weather that is approaching!

1. Denim Skirts

That’s right, the skirts that you wore back in 3rd grade every day for the entire fall are back in style! These skirts are all the rave on fashion blogs, and are already being spotted in street fashion everywhere!

2. Fuzzy Stuff

From faux-fur key chains to furry coats, fur is all the rave this fall. Sporting a full-fur coat might be a little out of reach on a college budget, but having just a bit of fuzziness in your outfit will make you savvy with furry-fashion.

3. Ankle Boots

The favorite go-to booties from last fall are still going to be popular… go ahead, let out that sigh of relief. Yes, those cute ankle-boots you got last year will still be in fashion, and will look great with some skinny jeans or even a skirt. Dressy or just for class, these are great, warm options for almost any outfit.

4. Tans

You won’t have much of that summer tan left-over once fall hits, but no worries, you can make up for it with your clothes! Tan is all over on the runways. Almost every designer displayed some clothing that was a bold and plain tan color. Whether it be a pair of khaki skinnies or an oversized tan sweater, keep the warm color around in your wardrobe this fall.

5. Off-the-Shoulder Shirts

Back in high school, showing shoulder was breaking the law. Use your newfound college freedom, and let it all hang out (or just your shoulders, of course)! Not only are off-the-shoulder shirts sexy, they are also flattering to many different body types.

6. Patches and Pins

Pants with embroidery, jackets covered in buttons, and jackets with pins on the collar are everywhere in top-fashion stores. These grunge fashion accessories can turn any article of clothing into your own conversation piece!

7. Choker Necklaces

These necklaces have been big all summer. But now that we don’t have to worry about getting tan lines where our choker necklaces were, they are going to explode in fashion this fall. Go bold with several necklaces at once, or simplify your look with just a thin string.

8. Plaid

A fall-favorite, plaid is in more than ever! Coats that sport plaid embroidery and patterns will be big this fall, and will make any outfit festive.

9. Solid-Colored Leggings

Hide the go-to black leggings in the back of your drawers this fall, and instead reach for bright leggings, in colors like red, brown, and orange. These leggings will brighten any outfit, and will make you look cheerful and put together, even if you just throw on a tshirt over the top of them!

10. Grandma Sweaters

Comfy, crazy, oversized sweaters will be all the rave this fall. With a pair of leggings and boots, a pair of jeans, or just a skirt and ankle socks, this look will be a cute look bound to give you the girl-next-door look.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
