10 Experiences Every Senior Has During Spring Finals
The Daily Dot

It is universally shown, in listicles across the internet, that finals season is the most difficult time of the semester for college students the world over. But have you ever thought, "What about finals during the spring semester of senior year? What are those like?" Well, if you have then you've come to the right place, and if you haven't, then consider this a thought-provoking article. As you will see, there are a lot of feelings evoked by your very last finals season, and with the help of the magical world of Harry Potter, I'm here to relate to you about what happens when...

1. The Sunday before finals week arrives

Filled only with paranoia, dread, and a dangerous amount of coffee, you prepare yourself for the week ahead by alternating between procrastinating by lip-syncing songs from Hamilton in your mirror and internally (and sometimes externally) yelling at yourself to study.

2. You finally force yourself to go to the library and you run into your studious friend

Your friend is Malfoy in this situation, therefore you are Goyle.

3. Someone asks how your ~*final*~ finals week is going

You can't help but find yourself wondering why seniors even have to take finals - in your last few weeks of college before a grown-up job and crushing student loan debt, you should be allowed to spend your time day drinking and watching RuPaul's Drag Race. Plus, you've already proven yourself capable seven times!

4. Someone asks where you're going to live after graduation, since you don't have a job lined up yet

Honestly, you're just ready to escape a campus now overrun by youths (fine, "first years"), subpar dining hall food, and the constant stress of essays and tests looming over your head.

5. Someone brags about how they've already got their dream job lined up, and not only that but they've basically finished all of their term papers

While you're very glad for them and you wish them all the lack of stress in the world, you also really want them to keep their happiness and carefree attitude to themselves.

6. Your friend tries to tell you that she has a higher mountain of work than you

No one is interested in being forced into competing in the Spring 2016 Stress Olympics.

7. Your professor says there will be a chance to earn extra credit on the final...

but then the extra credit turns out to be an impossibly hard question

It seems only logical that extra credit be an easy question, doesn't it? It's like the professor wants you to fail, even on the part of the test designed to help you boost your grade.

8. Your best friend gives you a pep talk when your inevitable breakdown occurs

As a senior in your final semester of college, you are experiencing a lot of emotions and stressors all at once. You are leaving the comfort of being in school and the support structure provided by living with all of your friends, only to be facing the anxiety of having to make moves towards starting a career, begin paying back your student loans, and, most likely, establish yourself in a brand new place. The end of college is an incredibly difficult time, even without the addition of finals!

9. You walk out of your last exam...

And hand in your last term paper

There must be no better feeling than having completed your schoolwork for the very last time.

10. You contemplate how you're about to enter the real world, but also know that you're going to finally experience freedom

So keep your chin up over the next few weeks, my fellow seniors, and use your daydreams of being handed that diploma to keep you going.

And remember that once you graduate, this is roughly the feeling you will experience:

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
