We’ve all experienced the panic of waking up late to an 8am class, having to frantically get ourselves and our lives together in a matter of four minutes, and somehow bike at super speed to get there on time. In these cases, certain changes must be made to a morning routine, whether we realize them or not. The 10 things we all experience while rushing to class in order of occurrence are:
1. You have nothing to wear.
You suddenly have no idea what went through your mind when you purchased every item of clothing in your closet. Shirts look too small, pants are unflattering, nothing fits right, everything is just bad.
2. You do the slip-on.
Slippers, flip-flops, sandals, anything that slides on quickly and doesn’t involve laces does the trick.
3. Coffee Over Breakfast
If there’s only enough time for one or the other, caffeine is the obvious answer. No time for cups, it must be chugged directly from the pot.
4. The return.
5. I'll clean when I get back.
Running late to class means leaving drawers opened, dirty dishes in the sink, and clothes scattered around the room. It means sacrificing order and cleanliness to ensure the fastest routine possible.
6. Aggressive biking.
Excuse me. Sorry. Pardon me. Get out of the way.7. The race to find a parking spot.
It’s rush hour, and you’re not the only one running late.
8. The final stretch.
It’s 7:57 a.m. The final stretch between bike rack and class, the make it or break it minutes.
9. The longest hallway ever.
When your class is on the far end of the building, but you’re so close you can almost taste the victory.
10. The sneak in.
You made it. It’s 8:00, and everyone has already taken a seat. The only thing left to do is sneak in and pray that an aisle seat is open.
