According the Euromonitor, the average mark up on cosmetics is somewhere around 78%. I hope you find that as ridiculous as I do. However, that is simply the world we live in today, so today I'm here to share some of the more trusty products I've come across over the years that definitely won't break the bank.

1. E.l.f. Poreless Face Primer

I always start with a primer and I love this one from Target because for $3.99, my skin couldn't look smoother. My foundation goes on a hundred times better when I start with this.

2. CoverGirl Clean Foundation: Normal Skin

Target for $5.29. I love this foundation because it's so light it never looks caked on. CoverGirl also produces the Clean line in a huge variety of tones and formulas. Normal, sensitive, oil, and matte are just a few of the other formulas available.

3. CoverGirl Invisible Cream Concealer

This concealer has been the best I've ever used, especially since I can buy it at Target for only $3.39 and it'll last me months. It blends into my skin so smoothly and on lazy days, I can skip the foundation and just use this little miracle.

4. CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder

Can you tell how much I love CoverGirl yet? I like to use matching foundation and powder, I feel it blends the best and again this powder is so light it does the job without being packed into my pores. This is available at Target for $5.39.

5. Essence Contour Powder

Essence is another brand I've come to love for it's low price and decent quality. This contour powder, available at Target for $3.99, is so easy to use and it's so bright I would recommend it anyone. It blends well into most skin tones and it doesn't cake on.

6. E.l.f. Eyeshadow: Mad for Matte

I recently got this palette and I have fallen in love. This matte eyeshadow for only $10 has every nude and smokey tone I need and it's so vivid it only takes seconds to apply.

7. Essence Gel Eyeliner

This waterproof eyeliner lasts all day and if I'm being honest, it doesn't look bad the next morning. It's easy to put on and it never clumps! This wonder has become a staple in my makeup bag for only $3.99.

8. Essence Mascara Get Big! Lashes

This simple and cheap mascara does the job without breaking the bank. I get it at Target for $3.99 and I tend to restock mascara every few months making this a cheap investment.

9. Essence Make Me Brown Eyebrow Gel Mascara

My eyebrows don't take a ton of maintenance but a quick touch up everyday is essential. I love this one from Target because it's smooth and it doesn't smudge throughout the day and only costs $2.99.

10. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Last but not least, lips! This NYX lip cream is my favorite because I adore the look of matte lips but I hate the feeling of cracked and broken lips at the end of the day as much as the next girl. This lip cream is inexpensive, easy to apply, comes in so many colors and most importantly, doesn't dry my skin out like the Sahara. Pick this up at Target for only $5.99.

Our final tally is $49.01 for a complete make up bag. I hope you enjoy testing out these products as much as I do!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
