Essie may be one of the most popular nail polish brands out there; and why not? With their sleek packaging, clever names, and long lasting wear, who wouldn't fall in love with those little bottles of happiness?

However, if you're like me, there may be one complication keeping you from hoarding every Essie color possible: money. As college students, we can't exactly afford to by and try out every shade we think we may like. Here's a list to narrow down your choices and make nail polish a little easier to afford (for now!).

1. "Mint Candy Apple"

A classic Essie color, "Mint Candy Apple" has been one of the most popular colors produced by the brand. Light and airy, this shade is perfect for both summer and winter: In the summer it speaks for itself, but in the winter it can used to spice up a formal outfit!

2. "Lady Like"

Now this is a personal favorite of mine. Not looking for anything too bright? Have several events in the same week, and don't feel like repainting your nails for each outfit? Never fear, "Lady Like" is here! A neutral tone with a pink under-base, this color is perfect for every occasion, plus it looks great with long nails!

3. "Pool Side Service"

I know, I know. The summer is all about bright colors and pastels, but bear with me. The touch of dark color allows for your nails to switch from day to night wear flawlessly! Not to mention how gorgeous the color is...

4. "Using My Maiden Name"

First off, the name is so sassy, it speaks for the color itself. This light, pastel purple, is highlighted by the slight sparkle element that Essie has thrown in! It's subtle enough that your nails aren't disco balls, but they give you just a bit more flare!

5. "Melody Maker"

Here we fall back on the age old tradition of bright nails in the summer time. This teal hue will make any outfit pop; they make a statement all their own! Just looking at the bottle will make you think of summer.

6. "Double Breasted Jacket"

Not quite red, and not quite pink, "Double Breasted Jacket" is on a scale all its own. No one will ever mistake this color for a straight shade of red with its vibrant undertone! The eye-catching color adds a touch of sass and bite to any ensemble!

7. "Mojito Madness"

Who doesn't need a good, solid, green nail color in their life? The best part about it? "Mojito Madness" can be warn in any season! In the summer it serves as a bright eye catcher, in the winter it adds a splash of color to your darker hues. In the spring, it compliments all the floral print and pastels nicely, and it balances out the mauves and browns of fall!

8. "Suite Retreat"

Do I really have to explain this one? Just look. A little closer. A little closer...bam, it's blowing you away isn't it?

9. "Swept Off My Feet"

This particular red is lacking the vibrant berry undertone of our other warm colors on the list, but who doesn't need a traditional in the mix? Red nails can be broken out for any occasion; just wear it with confidence!

10. "Petal Pushers"

We wind down our list with a more demure shade. Though grey may seem boring for some, this color can make or break an outfit. Similar to "Lady Like", "Petal Pushers" is versatile in the seasons and outfit changes, but be careful of neon clothes or to bright tees; they may make the nail color seem to dull!

Hopefully this list allows you to narrow down your choices a bit! If not, and I just added to your Essie wish list, I'm sorry! You can never have enough Essie!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
