The Contestants Of 'The Bachelorette'

As we all know, The Bachelorette premiered last Monday on ABC. Whether you are an avid fan or completely hate this show, it's hard to deny that this show isn't entertaining. Watching The Bachelorette is like reliving a college frat party over and over again. Put 27, over-confident, super douchey guys in a large house with a bunch of alcohol, and it's bound to get wild. While about 93 percent of the men on the show probably aren't there for love, two or three of them might have good intentions. Here are my thoughts on some of the men that we all met on Monday night.

Brandon

Is it just me, or does this dude look like Beans from Even Stevens? Maybe I'm being judgmental, but this guy totally creeped me out. Aside from his occupation being a 'hipster,' Brandon has awkward facial hair and makes me really uncomfortable. I'd be willing to bet $10 that he gets eliminated next week. Sorry, Beans.

Alex

Even though Alex is short, he's a very handsome guy. Do you see those eyes? Yeah, he ruffled some feathers when doing push-ups with Jojo on his back, but I appreciated his awkward attempt at getting to know her. I have the utmost respect for the Marine & hope Jojo keeps him around for a couple more weeks.

Daniel

I could say a lot of things about this man, but I'm going to keep it short and sweet - please go back to Canada. He is 31 years old and the first thing he said to Jojo was "daaaaamn Jojo", and then proceeded to jump into the pool with his underwear on. He also claims to be a male model, and doesn't have any tattoos because 'you don't put stickers on a Lambo'. My guess is that the producers made Jojo keep him around for dramatic effect. Daniel should be gone by next week... damn.

Derek

This man looks exactly like Jim Halpert. The end.

Jordan

If Jojo doesn't pick Jordan, I will gladly marry this man. He is super handsome, super sweet, super athletic, and (appears to be) very down to earth. At the end of the episode, the season preview made him out to seem like the 'guy that's there for the wrong reasons', but I'm finding that hard to believe. First impression roses are hard to come by, and Jordan deserved it. My guess is that he's going to win it all.

Nick B

Don't recognize him? Yep...didn't think so. This is the man that dressed up as Santa Claus when meeting "his future wife." I'm shocked Jojo didn't send him ho-ho home, but maybe he has some potential.

These are just a few of the men that stood out to me. I'm looking forward to this season and hope that Jojo finds love! If you have any comments about your favorite (or least favorite) men, leave a comment below.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
