10 Embarrassing Moments Everyone Has Been Through

A picture perfect life may not exist, but these embarrassing moments definitely do. Although most of us would prefer not to admit it, these painfully awkward moments happen more often than not. These events are inevitable—you will embarrass yourself in front of strangers, your crush, your family, and it will be painful. The only consolation is that everyone does this from time to time.

While we would like to think these embarrassing moments don’t phase us, everyone already knows the truth and so do you.

So here are 10 moments that happened, but you really wished hadn’t:

1. Tripping in public.

The most common scenario has somehow managed to remain the most embarrassing. Don’t be fooled, nobody ever gets used to basically wiping out in public. In fact, each time is usually more humiliating than the last.

2. The intended, but unacknowledged wave.

We’ve all given a friendly wave that never quite made its way to its recipient. The outcome: you look crazy. Honestly, next time just continue waving since everyone already thinks you’re strange. Heck yeah, I’m apparently waving to nobody and I’m proud.

3. Clothing malfunctions.

We’ve all walked out the door feeling flawless, only to realize we were the exact opposite. Whether we forgot to take the tags off of our clothing or the toilet paper from under our shoe, wardrobe malfunctions are always a tragedy. And let’s be honest, when someone points out that your zipper’s down, it’s never a whisper.

4. Stomach growls.

You’re sitting in a meeting with your CEO and all you can think about is the constant grumble of your stomach. And you’re wondering if it’s as loud as you think. The answer is yes. But don’t worry, despite your discomfort, most people won’t hone in on the lion that has taken the place of your stomach.

5. Forgetting someone’s name.

Failing to remember someone’s name never feels good and almost always ends up in awkward silence, especially when they know yours. Don’t waste your time coming up with an excuse because it simply prolongs an already uncomfortable situation. Plus, there’s really no excuse why you ended up calling Beth Beatrice. It’s better to take the L.

6. Texting in the wrong group chat.

Sending a personal message to the wrong group chat tends to be devastating and the embarrassment usually lingers the whole day. That’s because when we embarrass ourselves virtually, we never know how people are going to react. A number of possible screenshots and newly created side conversations could be endless.

7. Crying in public.

It doesn’t necessarily matter whether you’re crying tears of joy or sadness, crying in public is always an awkward moment for the outside parties looking in.

8. Knocking over a kid.

Curse those little human beings for being so darn undetectable. You’re walking around minding your own business when suddenly you crash into what you initially thought were shopping bags. Instead, it turns out to be the littlest of kids now sitting on the floor confused. Everyone walking by definitely thinks you’re a terrible person. And now, you even question whether or not your parent material.

9. Touching a stranger.

It’s never comfortable accidentally grazing hands with a complete stranger. Even worse, when you unintentionally touch somebody’s rear-end. However, the good news is instances like these tend to create mutual embarrassment for everyone involved.

10. Finding something in your teeth.

You went the whole day talking to just about everyone on the planet, only to find a piece of spinach sitting in your teeth hours later. Let the feelings of embarrassment begin.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
