For those of us who aren't very busy this summer, it's the perfect time to work on those random tasks that we normally don't have much time to do. For me, that means attempting to learn how to cook. Although I hope that eventually I'll be able to make really amazing and ornate meals, I also know that it's not exactly easy to fit cooking into college's busy schedule. Therefore, here are 10 easy meals that you can make during college (some can even be prepared in advanced and stored for later):

1. Sofrita Bowls

Most of us probably get sofrita bowls from Chipotle, but this is a cheaper and healthier option that will help you save money and improve your cooking skills.

2. Pizza Mac & Cheese

It's my two favorite foods combined into one recipe! What's not to love?

3. Ram n' Cheese

It's college students two go-to foods: Ramen and mac and cheese. I guarantee that this will become your new favorite and you won't be able to eat just instant ramen anymore.

4. BBQ Quesadillas

BBQ sounds delicious, but it's also time consuming (and what college student has a grill?). Instead, make these BBQ Quesadillas--they taste just as awesome, but can be ready in much less time.

5. One Pot Cheese and Tomato Pasta

Pasta should be every college students favorite meal. It's quick and can easily be varied--one day could be pesto, another tomato, another alfredo, etc.

6. French Toast In A Cup

Mug cakes never work well for me, but I have high hopes for this French Toast in A Cup recipe. Just make sure you don't overcook the eggs, or else it's going to taste like scrambled eggs with sweet bread (Ew).

7. Ratatouille

You save so much time with this quick Ratatouille recipe that you might as well procrastinate on homework and watch the movie Ratatouille while eating this.

8. Cheese Burger Salad

The fact that there's also lettuce in this makes it healthy, right?

9. Lasagna

Okay, so it's not exactly authentic Italian lasagna, but I'd say that any college student who makes lasagna is pretty well-prepared for adulting.

10. DIY Ramen

Instead of eating unhealthy instant noodles, you can make these DIY Ramen noodles in advance (using your own customized ingredients) and just add hot water when you're ready to eat!

Enjoy cooking!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
