10 Things Easier Than Getting Into The Class You Need At Kent

Everyone hates the time of year that scheduling comes up. It requires you staying up late so you can try to get into the class you want and get the time that best works with your other classes. Kent does not make scheduling easy. With that being said, here are 10 things that I think could possibly be easier:

1. Dodging parking services without getting a ticket.

Parking at Kent is another very difficult task. Without the proper parking pass, you better plan on getting a ticket.

2. Not getting tired of campus food.

If you can go an entire semester without getting tired of campus food, you must be doing something right. There are only so many places to eat on campus, and after nine months, you get tired of the same places very fast.

3. Finding a seat in "Club Lib" during finals week!

Don't get mad when you come to the library during finals week and you can't find a place to study. You don't come here any other time, so don't get mad now.

4. Going to Einsteins in the morning without there being a line.

If you can get to Einsteins in the morning before the mad rush, Which starts around 8 a.m., by the way, you're winning!

5. Being able walk a straight line through the wind tunnel on a windy day.

If you can make it past the HUB to the library without being blown in a different direction by the wind, you'll be sure to pass any sobriety test if ever needed.

6. Remembering to do your online class work.

If you're like me and have an online class, you wait until last minute to do your assignments. There is probably a better chance of me getting those done before getting into that Bio Lab I need.

7. Going to the Rec around 6 and not having to wait to get on a machine!

If you go to the Rec around 6, you had better be prepared to wait for the machine you want! Everyone and their brother seem to be there around this time and waiting becomes a problem.

8. Connecting to the WIFI

Just good luck with that!

9. Getting in a frat party after Rush week, if you're a guy.

Trying to get into a Frat party when you're a guy after Rush week is over can be another difficult task here at Kent. Unless you have the right male to female ratio, or know someone, don't even try!

10. Trying to pay for your food using your room key.

Everyone has done it at some point! It is an easy thing to do, you think you handed the cashier your student I.D., but instead, you gave them your room key.

Getting the classes you need or want is not an easy thing here at Kent. It requires a lot of planning sometimes. Some of the things that I have listed are sometimes indeed easier then getting your classes you need. Happy scheduling Y'all!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
