My most favorite part about the upcoming Holidays is making things for my family members! I get most of my ideas from Pinterest, but some ideas were my own. Giving something that is handmade has more meaning than something store bought. Also, it'll be WAY cheaper to make your own decorations rather than buying them.

1. Mini Wreaths

These are one of my FAVORITE things to make. The best part about it is that it is made of mason jar lids! This is by far one of my favorite Pinterest finds. A tutorial can be found on the original owner's website here

2. Little Snowmen

Here is another one of my favorites! These are made of mason jar lids as well. I actually used white pipe cleaners instead of twine. I love this idea that Anne created! A link to the tutorial is here

3. Candles

This year, I got into making candles. It can be a hassle but it's all worth it in the end! I've seen many tutorials for candles, but I liked Katie's the most. You can make any scent that you want! A tutorial can be found here

4. Ornaments

There are so many tutorials online for all kinds of ornaments. I came across Kim's tutorial and I fell in love! They are very simple yet so beautiful! The tutorial can be found on her blog

5. Hats, scarves, etc.

My great grandmother has gotten into crocheting recently. She made me this hat last year and I wear it every time it gets cold. I've got more hats that I wear as well. She's also made me numerous scarves. I don't have a tutorial for hers but I found a blog that is run by a lady named Alexis. She makes hats very similar to mine. They're also super cute! The tutorial can be found here

6. Wreaths

I have always wanted to make an ornament wreath. I just think they're so beautiful! I just haven't got around to actually taking the time to make one (I work A LOT). They are definitely a good gift to give. A tutorial can be found here

7. Painted Mason Jars

Another one of my favorite things to do is paint mason jars. Since Christmas is coming up, I'm starting to make Christmas themed ones. I came across Kelly's idea on Pinterest and I fell in love! A link to her tutorial can be found here

8. Painted Wooden Spoons

These are just too cute for words! They are such a simple craft to make. I will be making some within the next few weeks. A link to the creator's blog can be found here

9. Hand Warmers

This is another project I will be starting soon. They are a great gift to give anyone! A tutorial can be found on Sadie's blog

10. Wooden Signs

Wooden signs are one of my favorite ways to decorate. I have a good friend of mine who can make them! Here is a link to the Facebook group. Also, here is a link that will give you some information on woodwork

I have more ideas on my Pinterest! Here are links to my Christmas, DIY 1, and DIY 2 boards.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
