I recently went on a family vacation to Disney World. Disney World would definitely not be the same without the people. This includes the characters, performers, employees and of course, the attendees. These are the types of people I saw walking through the parks.
1. The first timers
You can spot them wearing a “1st visit" button. Their ages range from 5 years old to 50 years old. But despite their age, they are all equally as happy to be there. They will often be caught sporting minnie mouse ears or some sort of Disney apparel.
2. The birthday princesses
From 4 years old to 16 years old (not lying when I say this), you can spot these girls wearing pink sparkly birthday sashes with pastel pink dresses, or if they're younger, princess costumes.
3. The tour groups
There’s about 100 of them wearing matching t-shirts and holding maps as they walk around Disney, clueless as ever. As they get on line for Splash Mountain the wait time suddenly increases from 50 minutes to 80 minutes. You dislike how there is so many of them, but you kinda wish you were apart of their group.
4. The family with the matching shirts
Because someone in their family thought it was a good idea to get shirts that say the role of each family member, specifically for their Disney trip. When did this become a thing?
5. The pin collector
This kid (or adult) can be seen wearing a sash with at least 50 pins, and if you open their backpack you discover even more. While you and your family take a break from the craziness of Disney to sit down on a bench, they may be sitting next you with all of their pins laid out looking for someone to trade with. They are the real deal.
6. The high school sweethearts
You don’t know whether to cringe or be happy for this PDA friendly Disney couple. They'll even hold hands while waiting for the rides.
7. The annual pass holders
These families will typically own a vacation home in Orlando, or live very close to Walt Disney World. Sure Disney is very fun, despite how many times you go, but you always wonder how they do it every single year.
8. The ones afraid of the rain
One dark cloud in the sky, and their Mickey Mouse ponchos come out. As soon as it starts drizzling, they’ll run out of the park or hide inside. Little do they know, the rain will probably stop in an hour or so. Even though some rides are closed due to the rain, in the hot florida sun a little rain isn’t so bad.
9. The disney fanatics
They have to do everything. They watch every parade, every show, get online for pictures with every character, and of course go on every ride. Unlike the annual pass holders, they don’t come every year, but when they do they stay for a while, and enjoy every moment.
10. The planners
This family plans each and every day out down to the hour. They have fast passes for all of the best rides, and reservations for the most popular restaurants. You are jealous of them, as they get right on Space Mountain while you’re stuck waiting for 80 more minutes. Even though you are envious, you like the idea of not planning every little detail.
