While in Stony Brook, you are in Seawolves Country. If you don't know what a Seawolf is, join the club of the thousands of Stony Brook University students who don't fully understand what their school mascot is either, but still have a lot of pride in their college. Since the Long Island town is home to one of the nation's top public colleges, Stony Brook obviously has some of the Island's top restaurants! Here's a list of the must-eat-at restaurants in the Stony Brook area:
1. Cabo Fresh
If you think Chipotle has some of the best burritos and taco salads, you've never had Cabo! Cabo is located in the Loews Movie Theater shopping center off of 347. All of the ingredients here are so deliciously fresh, there's no wonder why it's called Cabo Fresh!
2. Crazy Beans
Crazy Beans is the cutest little cafe I ever did see. It has a prime location in the Stony Brook Village and some of the tastiest treats you'll ever eat. Not to mention the crazy drink combinations they serve. Like Nutella? There are a plethora of drinks for you at Crazy Beans!
3. Ichi Sushi
Yum, yum, yummy, put some sushi in my tummy! Right off of route 25A, Ichi is the perfect place to get some high quality sushi that will leave you feeling delightfully full.
4. Kumo
"I want steak." "Well, I want Japanese food!" Ever argue with your friends over places to eat? At Kumo, there is no reason to argue because its a steakhouse, a sushi legend and home to wonderful hibachi food! It's a definite must-eat-at restaurant in Stony Brook.
5. 1089 Noodle House
Located on route 25A, 1089 Noodle House is home to incredible Chinese food. There is no other Chinese cuisine in Stony Brook like it!
6. O Sole Mio
Who's feeling Italian tonight?! You want pizza? They got it. Pasta? They perfect it. Pepperoni pinwheels that will make you do cartwheels? Wouldn't be right if they didn't have that!
7. Mad Over Yogurt
Do you ever have those days when you're craving frozen yogurt but not feeling Red Mango? M.O.Y. is home to some of the best fro-yo in town! There are many delicious toppings and flavors to choose from so I can promise you can come back on a daily basis to try them all!
8. Se-port Deli
Do I really need to explain? This deli is home to the best tasting sandwiches your tastebuds will ever touch. Not to mention the New York Met, Steven Matz, has frequented this deli since Stony Brook is his hometown.
9. The Curry Club
It's so nice to have a little variety in our lives. If you're looking for some quality Indian style meals, look no further than The Curry Club! The atmosphere is just as enthralling as the food!
10. Shake Shack
So it's technically in Lake Grove BUT it's so tasty and so close to Stony Brook I just had to include it in this list! This is the only Shake Shack on Long Island so far and it's just as amazing as the ones in Manhattan. There is no better burger than one from Shake Shack.
