It's getting warmer, and no one wants to turn the oven on to bake a cake. It's way too hot to make more traditional desserts, like cupcakes and cookies. Who says that that should stop us from making desserts?

Here are my favorite no-bake desserts that require little to no oven use!

1. Oreo Pops

My signature dessert that never fails to wow the crowd. With just three ingredients, Oreos, cream cheese, and melting chocolate, this dessert is super simple and takes only about half an hour. Simply crush the Oreos, mix in some cream cheese, roll into balls, and then dip them in melted chocolate.

2. No-Bake Cheesecake

Cheesecake doesn't need to be difficult. No-bake cheesecakes are the perfect dessert for that hot day when you want something sweet. You can use any crust you like and add any toppings you want, from fruit to candy to just some melted chocolate.

3. Cream Pie

I love a good banana or chocolate cream pie when it's warm. They're very simple to make and taste delicious. You can buy pie crust at the grocery store and then make the best filling possible and you have a dessert that everyone will praise you for.

4. Homemade Ice Cream

It's the most obvious no-bake dessert, but delicious nevertheless. Yes, making your ice cream takes some effort, but it's so worth it in the end. Spend a little bit of money to get a quality churn and you will not regret it. There are endless possibilities when it comes to ice cream.

5. Icebox Cake

This is a relatively new kind of no-bake dessert. It basically contains lots of whipped cream with any other flavors you want. This can be poundcake, graham crackers, fruit, Oreos, or anything you want. The cake is assembled into layers and then kept in the freezer for a few hours. Another simple dessert that will cool you off even on the warmest day.

6. Eggless Cookie Dough

Don't want to turn the oven on? Then don't bake the cookies, just eat the dough! If you make an eggless dough, the mixture won't go bad or have the risk of salmonella. Eat it with ice cream or on its own, it will be delicious either way.

7. Ice Cream Cake

Ice cream cakes have a reputation for being childish, but I think that they are fantastic. You don't even have to bake the cake, you can just buy poundcake at the grocery store. Similar to the icebox cake, just assemble the layers and then put it in the fridge for a few hours and you have a perfect and easy dessert.

8. Chocolate-Covered Frozen Bananas

This dessert isn't just for strolling along the water on Balboa Island. You can make frozen bananas at home, and they will be just as delicious. Once you've dipped the banana in melted chocolate, add some toppings and you're all set.

9. Pudding Parfait

I remember being about 10 years old and layering two different types of pudding with whipped cream and thinking that I had just invented the best dessert of all time. Pudding is not difficult to make, and you can get really fancy with your layering and choice of serving vessel.

10. Fresh Berries with Whipped Cream

Sometimes the simplest desserts are the best. Fresh berries with freshly whipped cream are refreshing and delicious. It's also healthier than other desserts, so you don't feel so guilty after your midnight indulgence.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
