10 Delicate & Meaningful Tattoo Ideas You'll Fall in Love With

This past Saturday, I spontaneously decided to get a tattoo with my best friend. Her and I both have always wanted to get a heart on our wrists, so we figured..."WHY THE HELL NOT. LET'S GO!" A lot of people always say that when you get your first tattoo, it becomes addicting. THEY WERE RIGHT. I am a big fan of delicate, minimalist tattoos, and I have spent the past couple of days looking at these types of tattoos for me to get in the future.

(This is my heart tattoo. I'm in love with it)

Here are a few of my favorite minimalist tattoo ideas you will want to get immediately:

Galaxy

I have a major fascination with everything in the night sky. So why not put it on your body permanently? ;) There is something so beautiful and lovely about the simplicity of dots lined up and connected with little stars.

Up Arrow

I love that this is so small, but representative of so many things in life. If you are feeling sad or discouraged, just look down at your arm for a reminder that things will get better. Keep your chin held high. Keep looking up.

Sun & Moon

I think putting the sun on one heel and the moon on the other not only represents balance, but it also says that the night won’t last forever. No matter what, the sun will always rise. That’s a good way to look at life.

So It Goes

No matter what situation is thrown your way, life goes on. Why not put a reminder of that on your arm?

Bow

This one is just so feminine and cute. I think this could represent your inner child. It shows that your soul will never really grow up.

Lotus Flower

“Growing from the mud, and blooming towards the sky, a lotus symbolizes purity, spiritual awakening, revival, and fortune.”

Quadruple Heart

This can represent four different important people in your life, or just the all-around love you have for yourself or for your life.

Keep the Faith

When in doubt, remember that God is always looking out for you.

Initial

One letter can represent a lot. By putting your first initial or the initial of someone you care deeply about on your body, it can represent the deep love and respect that you have for yourself or someone in your life.

Let It Be

“When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom: let it be.”

Wanderlust

Through the outline of an airplane, this tattoo showcases your lust for life and adventure. It is so simple, but so powerful.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
