I've been on many dates and most of them seem exactly the same because we always end up doing the same things. It's dinner, a movie, a smooch at the end. People believe that what you're doing for the date shouldn't matter as long as you truly care about the person who is taking you out, but, I don't think that's always true. The first date sets the first impression on a person and makes your appreciate who they are. Here are some ideas for people who can't think of anything new.

1. Go out for ice cream and take a walk through a park.

This idea may sound super cliche but nothing's more personal than taking a walk with someone and who doesn't like ice cream?

2. Go to a comedy show.

It will give you both something to laugh about afterwards.

3. Go out for dinner and a movie but watch a really bad movie.

This will definitely give you both something to talk about and something to debate on later as well.

4. Go to Starbucks or any other coffee shop.

This idea might sound way too simple or too mainstream because everyone does coffee dates but they're the best kinds of dates. You get to sit down and just have a conversation about anything you want to talk about.

5. Bake something very complicated together.

There's something about baking with someone you like or with a friend that makes it so playful and fun, it's definitely something you should consider for a date.

6. Go to a pet store and pet all the fur babies.

If your partner sees that you're an animal lover, they might ask for a second date almost immediately.

7. Go roller-skating (especially if you both have never gone).

This can be super fun especially if both you and your date have never gone roller-skating. It's a fun, new experience you both can experience together.

8. Water-gun fight.

This is more fun during the summer time or indoors but just make sure phones are away and makeup isn't too nice that day.

9. Marathon a show on Netflix.

Nothing is more comforting than being indoors and watching a great show.

10. Visit an aquarium.

Pretty fish are the best fish to look at on a first date.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
