1. Send and Object

Do not just send a boring letter! Get creative and send a postcard flip-flop! Many people have found that they can send almost anything if they add enough stamps! Some of the better objects are, a potato, cans, and a balloon! See what you can send!

2. Send More Than One Letter

Everyone loves a letter. So more than one has to be even better! Many people love to create " Open When..." series of letters, and this would be a great addition to your creative snail mail list! Although this might go over just one small letter envelope into a care package, it is sure to be a hit!

3. A Letter in Photos

Why write when you can show? Many artists point out how important it is to show their audience rather than tell, So why do you need to tell your life? Instead show your recipient by taking photos and sending them off!

4. Send a Tasty Treat

I know I would love to receive something sweet almost every day of the week! So why not bake up cake ( such as the one above) and sent it off to someone you love? This might take more energy, but is a great surprise! Just make sure to mark as perishable, and maybe cover your treat to keep people from stealing the treat before it reaches its destination.

5. Set a Kit

While a letter is very personal, you can not do too much with it. However, if you send a kit (in place of or with a letter) you can have your recipient do more than just read! They can create something they can play with, or even learn something new. There are many kits to consider from origami instructions, personal word searches, and really activity you are willing to send!

6. Create a Story Together

Instead of it being a single exchange, make it a great way to create something wonderful for both of you! Just start with a single sentence or even a few pages and see where it goes! Who knows you may have a new best seller on the way!

7. Send a Puzzle

You can send a photo set ( like in number 3), a picture on the back of your letter, or even just use your letter itself for this project! Use a strong page, such as cardboard or card stock and cut your letter/photo into puzzle pieces. Then it is as easy as mix and stick in an envelope for delivery! Imagine the look on your recipient's face as they open their mail!

8.Make Your Own Postcard

You do not have to travel or far to send a fantastic postcard to the people you love! Just have fun during your normal life and take a picture. Then take that printed photo and write a little message on the back for someone. Get creative, maybe work on your Photoshop skills, or comedic writing to create something truly unique.

9. Balloon Letter

While people have sent a balloon in the mail, that might be a bit too adventurous and dangerous for the balloon! So think about blowing up a balloon, writing a message, deflating it and mailing it in an envelope. That way your recipient can blow it up again to read your message, and have a little gift too! You do not have to write your letter on it, maybe create a cool face, get creative!

10. Accordian Letter

This is a great way to combine some of these great ideas for snail mail! By creating one of these letters you can pack treats, photos, and yes even a balloon of two!

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
