10 Country Songs For Your Workout

I've been told I'm weird for listening to country music while I workout, but for me, it keeps me motivated. I have a playlist on my phone of workout songs; not all are country, but the majority of them are. To people who are not a fan of country music, they think all the songs are about heartbreak, beer and women. While a lot of them are, some have a good beat to keep you pumped in the gym. But even though a lot of them are about heartbreak, isn't that motivation enough to keep you pumped up while working out? I don't know about you, but when I broke up with my ex a year ago, the gym is what saved me from a lot of sad moments. Sure, I had those sad moments anyways but I felt better about myself as a whole. I was working toward accomplishing a goal that felt good during the process. I also told myself that this was bettering me. I was getting in shape, feeling like a new me, and I was glad to know that the next person who comes along was going to get a better version of myself.

Here are 10 country songs guaranteed to keep you pumped and motivated at the gym:

1. "Move" - Luke Bryan

This is a new song. It's even Luke's new single but after one listen, I had to add it to the playlist. Besides the song having a great, up-beat, catchy sound, it's also Luke singing about how sexy he finds a girl. Picture yourself on the treadmill, getting in the zone and Luke Bryan in the background telling you how sexy you are. I know that would make me run harder. It's Luke Bryan after all.

2. "Dirty Laundry" - Carrie Underwood

Okay, I might be a little bias with this one because I'm a major CU fan, but this song has had me going hard while doing cardio several times. In the song, Carrie is singing about finding her man's white shirt with a lipstick stain and the smell of a woman's "40 dollars too cheap" perfume. If you're a girl going through a recent break up, especially because your man couldn't be faithful, this is a good song to take your anger out on at the gym. In the second half of the song, Carrie talks about showing everyone what he did. What better way to prove your ex that he made a mistake by getting a hot bod?

3. "Smoke" - Florida Georgia Line

Of course FGL made the workout list, it'd be a shock if they didn't. If you've heard an FGL song, then you know the "slowest" it get is "H.O.L.Y." and even that song has a catchy beat to it. But "Smoke" on the other hand has been one of my favorites since the album came out. This song is very catchy and has an awesome beat to it. Plus, the boys of FGL are singing about times they had while they were younger and how "hot" they find a girl. The song itself will be a great workout song but like I said about Luke Bryan, wouldn't the boys of FGL singing about you keep you going hard?

4. "American Country Love Song" - Jake Owen

This song will keep you pumped from the beat. Just listen to it.

5. "Do It Like This" - Chase Rice

Chase Rice telling you to "shake your money maker." Enough said.

6. "Undo It" - Carrie Underwood

I told you I might be bias but... surprise! Carrie's on the list again! This is a classic Carrie Underwood song and besides the up beat to it, it's like "Dirty Laundry" where she's kissing her man goodbye and showing him how strong she is and how she doesn't need a man to make her happy. This would be another great gym song to keep you motivated while you better yourself after a tough break up.

7. "Break Up In A Small Town" - Sam Hunt

Because it's Sam Hunt and sometimes you need a mellow / up-beat song to run too.

8. "Don't It" - Billy Currington

I love Billy Currington and I'm so glad he has a song out that's not like his normal country songs. "Don't It" is different for Billy but it's a good different. His old stuff has the country twang to it and even though I'm not that big on most of the modern, pop-country songs, this one is an exception. It puts me in a good mood, lifts me up, keeps me motivated at the gym.

9. "Lovin' You Is Fun" - Easton Corbin

This is one of those typical country songs about a boy professing his love for the girl but it's such a fun song. It's another one that makes me feel good and want to dance wherever you are. Once this fun song puts you in that ready-to-go mood, you're all set to kill it at the gym.

10. "I Took It With Me" - Jason Aldean

I'm not a Jason Aldean fan but this song is one that was a must add to my playlist. Listen to it, add it, and go hard at the gym.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
