Halloween is right around the corner. Maybe you forgot to get a costume, or maybe you just found out about a costume party. Maybe you have a small budget. If you fall under any of these categories, you're in the right place. Here are 10 costumes you can make on short notice and a small budget.

(All times are 100% estimated. I haven't made any of these.)

1. A Lego Block

Grab some solo cups and a cardboard box (that you probably have laying around somewhere). It will only take a couple layers of paint, cups, glue, cardboard, maybe scissors, and about 45 minutes (or less) of your time.

2. A Jack-O-Lantern

Wear an orange shirt (or dress) and some black bottoms. Grab a black sharpie and draw a face on the orange top. You can make this one in around 10 minutes (or more, I guess, if you want to get really creative with the face).

3. Your Friend

Just grab some of their clothes. You can do this one in less than 2 minutes. You can add a name tag so you don't have to keep answering the same question all night.

4. Twister

Dress in all white. Cut out colored construction paper circles, then glue them on your white clothing. This one should take about 15 minutes.

5. A Mime

Gather some black clothes. Cover your face with white paint. Takes about 7 minutes. Bonus: You don't have to talk.

6. A Pregnant Woman

Stick a pillow underneath your clothes and tie it in place with some string. Wobble around and you're set. This will probably take about 3 minutes (to actually getting dressed. For the full effect you'll have to wobble all night). You may need a friend's help to tie the string.

7. Spirit of Halloween

Just wear black and orange clothing. Takes approximately 2 minutes (depending on how fast you get dressed).

8. A Highway

You can wear some black clothing and tape some yellow tape right down the center of your body and then white tape down the center of each half. Depending on how quickly you can get the tape on, I'd estimate this to take about 8 minutes.

9. Undecided

Black or white clothing will work for this one. Just cut out a question mark from some construction paper , tape it on, and you're good to go. Probably takes about 4 minutes.

10. A Domino

Wear some black clothes and a white belt. Cut out some white circles and arrange them with the numbers you feel suit you, or reverse the colors (white clothes with black dots). This will take around 10 minutes.

Happy Halloween!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
