They are something that are not talked about as often as competitive sports, but in many ways they do serve a large purpose. The purpose of these sports is a lot different from the sports that attract screaming fans and soccer moms. Intramural sports can benefit someones overall health and well being for they are all the benefits of a sport without the stress of it all.

1. The Scenery

One of the most important parts of intramural sports and how they can relate to a person's health is the scenery people who play them are surrounded by. Even if you fall while playing a game of ultimate frisbee or soccer you might land into the view of something beautiful like a flower while you are running around and laughing with your friends.

2. All the pets that you can see.

When students are away at college, one of the most common things they can miss from home are their pets. While playing sports outside their are a lot of people who come by and walk their dogs. This interaction students can have while playing with these animals is both healthy for the dog and human physically and emotionally.

3. Playing outside gets you closer to nature.

Beach volleyball when it is warm out is a good sport to play to get you closer to nature. When playing it most people are barefoot and able to feel the sand between their toes almost as if they are on vacation

4. When working as a team, it gives you motivation.

Intramural sports can give people the chance to do basic physical exercises with each other in a way that is motivating. The one cool thing about these kinds of sports as well is that they are not separated by gender.

5. Communication

Teamwork is something we can learn from playing any sport but one thing that goes hand and hand with teamwork is communication. By communicating properly with one another properly before making a play as shown below the people on that team were able to easily score a point.

6. They help you gain focus and coordination.

Soccer takes a lot of focus and coordination, many by playing it in their spare time. Here is Luis learning how to balance a soccer ball on his foot.

7. People watching can enjoy them, too.

Even those who are not participating in the sport at the moment can enjoy it. This person is enjoying themselves as well as getting fresh air and exercise by just hanging out with the frisbee team.

8. Fall begins!

In the beginning of Autumn is the most common time for intramural sports to start because everyone is heading back to school. With the Autumn exercise you get the scent of fresh air as well as the view of colorful leaves falling off the trees.

9. They teach you focus and strategy.

This action shot shows how focus and strategy are key and even though club and intramural sports are less competitive; they can definitely teach you the same things regular sports can.

10. They make for a fun and relaxed time.

Overall intramural and club sports make for a relaxed time. People can hang out with their friends, bring their bike, eat food and even play with a dog while participating in them. Club sports are their for strictly fun and not winning.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
