Well, if it’s one thing we all have in common, its that we love a good cookie. And to be honest, cookies just taste better around this time of year. So, I recruited some help from friends and family and have complied a list of my top 10 favorite cookies to make. Enjoy, and happy baking!
1. Peanut Butter Blossoms
I could eat these by the dozen! The best time to eat these are right as they come out of the oven, with the chocolate sort of melted and the cookie still warm.
2. No bake cookies
My friends and I go crazy when these are served in the caf at school, so I begged my mom to make them at home! These are very easy to make and everyone loves them!
3. Cutout Sugar Cookies
Everyone loves a classic sugar cookie. Add decorations, and it makes the perfect Christmas treat. Now, I might be biased, but I think my mother makes the best ones! We have a family recipe, and knock out 10-15 dozen in one day! (Here is a picture of me frosting them not too long ago)
4. Buckeyes
If you’ve never heard of these cookies, you are missing out! Its basically peanut butter and sugar mixed together, and then dipped in chocolate. What more could you want?
5. Italian wedding cookies
These cookies have a multitude of names, but whatever you call them, they are some of the best! I don’t know whether it’s the powdered sugar on the outside, with just all around pure goodness on the inside. You can’t go wrong with putting these on your baking list.
6. Candy Cane cookies
Now, I’m not going to lie, these aren’t my favorite taste wise, but they certainly look great! A little hint, try adding peppermint flavoring to the dough!
7. Snowball cookies
These are just glorified rice krispie treats, but still cute and easy nonetheless! Just mix together rice krispies, butter, and marshmellows, and you have cute treats shaped like snow!
8. Butter Tarts
Now, 99% of the people reading this will have absolutely no idea what im talking about… but, it’s a Canadian thing. These tarts are hands down my favorite dessert ever (Just don’t look at the nutrition facts). Its corn syrup, butter, and sugar mixed together and baked in tart shells.
9. Pizzelles
Now, I hadn’t heard of these until my bff Faith and I went to bake cookies at a friends house, and now I’m hooked! We used the specific pizelle maker and everything! These do take quite a bit of work, but their look and taste are so worth it.
10. Thumbprint Cookies
These are some of my absolute favorites! The cookie in itself is amazing, but adding the jam to it really makes the taste one of a kind! These are also so much fun to make. I would highly recommend.
Well, these are my personal 10 favorite cookies to make around the holiday season, and I hope you got some ideas for your baking! Now, excuse me while I go off to bake! (and then go join the gym.)
