If you're reading this, you LOVE makeup. You live it, you breathe it and you preach it. When you hear the words Sephora or Ulta, you'll immediately need to rush to the mall and you will inflate with glee. Makeup is an obsession, a hobby, and a collection all in one. A lot of people don't understand this love, so these are a few things they should know.
1. I will choose to buy makeup I really want over buying something I actually need.
I won't buy myself food or toilet paper, but I'll definitely spend over $50 on eye shadow. Take my money.
2. There is so much variety.
Special edition, different finishes, liquid vs pencil eyeliner, matte vs shimmer vs duo-chrome eyeshadow, I could go on and on. Don't get me started on all the different colors. So no, I could not choose "just one."
3. YouTube makeup channels are the holy grail of the Internet.
If you love makeup, you follow them all. NikkieTutorials, grav3yardgirl, KathleenLights, Laura Lee, etc. Nothing beats a good tutorial shown to you by people you consider your friends.
4. Time well spend.
We spend hours looking at makeup online, watching tutorials, and creating wishlists.
5. Sometimes we stare at our makeup.
We spend a lot of money on it, it's pretty to look at. Don't judge, you'll stare at a Lamborghini, it's basically the same thing.
6. Can't stop.
When you say "I'll be there in ten," panic might ensue. If I'm in the middle of doing something, I can't just stop.
7. Opinion matters.
If we think our makeup is on point, we'll keep asking you about it and making you look at it.
8. Get that right!
The right lipstick color can make a girl feel like she can take over the world.
9. Makeup can take you from pretty princess to sultry lady in minutes.
10. We don't do our makeup to impress anyone.
Just because we like makeup doesn't mean that we think we are ugly. We do our makeup simply because we like to do it, it doesn't have anything to do with you.
