Moving is already stressful enough, but moving your whole life into a tiny dorm room makes it even more stressful. If you're like me and your school is a few hours away from home this can make it even more stressful. But, no need to stress (i've already done it enough for all of us). Here's a list of tips to get you through your college moving experience:

A few things to remember: No matter how many lists you make or how many times you check everything over, you'll still end up forgetting something. So, Target will be your best friend on move in day. Bring at least two other people to help you move in.

1. Once you pack everything you WANT to bring, go back and just keep the things you NEED to bring.

You'll thank me later when your dorm isn't overflowing with useless junk.

2. If the school approved packing list says don't bring something, just don't bring it.

Trust me, you don't want to have to deal with the hefty housing fines later on.

3. You can never bring too many snacks.

You'll get sick of the dining halls a lot faster than you might think.

4. Bag up your hanging clothes.

Put 10 to 15 items together, put a trash bag on them and tie it up at the top! Easiest and hassle-free way to move your clothes.

5. Use bags you can throw away after moving in.

Instead of having 20 plus containers and suitcases taking up space in your dorm.

6. Bring stackable storage bins.

If you can loft your bed, put the stackable storage bins under the bed and it will give you so much extra space.

7. Label everything.

Literally everything. It will make your move in so much easier and quicker if you know where everything is.

8. Cover all your liquids with plastic wrap or tape so they don't spill.

I've learned this from experience after my shampoo spilled all over everything on move in day... don't turn out like me.

9. Put all your jewelry in separate plastic baggies.

This will save you a headache when trying to untangle a huge tangled mess of jewelry.

10. Buy room decor with storage built in.

Storage is the biggest thing you'll need in college so utilize your space as much as you can!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
