10 Things Every College Freshman ACTUALLY Needs for Christmas

Those other lists just have a bunch of things that I'm never going to use.

I'm sure you've seen the dozens upon dozens of lists of what to buy college students for Christmas. After looking at many of them, I realized that a lot of them have things on there that I would never use as a Freshman. So here's a list from an actual Freshman of what we REALLY want for Christmas.

1. University Apparel

As a Freshman, most of the time you come in with little to no school gear. What better way to show support for your school than a t-shirt you got for Christmas? Obviously, this will change from school to school, but one of my favorite sites and the link to this shirt is here .

2. Noise-Canceling Headphones

Noise canceling headphones are super important. Whether it be because your suitemates are being loud or your room is right next to the elevator, long night Netflix binges need noise canceling headphones .

3. Portable Charger

I don't know if I could have gotten through first semester without my portable charger. From late night study sessions to just day-to-day activities, a portable charger is a definite must.

4. Waterproof Speaker

Dorm showers suck. Make them suck a little less with a waterproof speaker .

5. Face Masks

There's truly nothing like a face mask at the end of a long day of class or studying.

6. Planner

I'd be lost without my planner . It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but planners are a must if you want to stay organized and productive.

7. Brita Water Pitcher

A Brita is most definitely on my list this year! As someone who drinks a lot of water, it gets tiring having to go back to my dorm after every class to get a bottle of water.

8. First Aid Kit

I can't tell you how many times my roommate and I have needed a bandaid and didn't have any. A first aid kit would definitely fix all that.

9. Under Bed Storage

Any amount of storage is perfect. I've gone and bought so many of these storage cubes throughout the semester it's ridiculous.

10. Sleep

SLEEP. PLEASE. All I want is some peace and quiet and SLEEP. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
