There are many fantastic pieces of literature, and unfortunately I cannot read them all at the same time. But naturally there are some that are higher on my TBR (to-be-read) than others. Here I'll present you with a list of 10 classic novels that I really want to get to soon.

1. Animal Farm - George Orwell

George Orwell wrote two famous novels: 1984 and Animal Farm. I've heard many great things about Animal Farm and I'm excited to get to this soon.

2. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood

The Handmaid's Tale was turned into TV series recently and I really, really want to watch it. But I have to read the book first naturally.

3. Frankenstein - Mary Shelley

Frankenstein is really popular and I just want to see what the hype is about. We all know about Frankenstein, but I don't really know anything about the actual story.

4. The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

This is like one of the only gay Victorian novels, so yeah, can't wait.

5. The Jungle Books - Rudyard Kipling

I have this beautiful copy of the two Jungle Book novels combined and I still have not read it. I need to right now. But where's the time?

6. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë

I'm actually getting to this really soon! I'm participating in a Brontë book club, in which we read six Brontë novels in 2018.

7. A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens

The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare has a lot of mentions of this book and it has made me excited to read it. Even though Dickens and I haven't really clicked before.

8. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson

This is another story that I know, but don't really know. I'm curious to how it actually goes.

9. Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen

I basically want to read all the Austen novels and I heard that this is a good one to start with.

10. Jabberwocky - Lewis Carroll

Carroll is a magician. I love Alice and am so excited to read this collection of poetry!!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
