We survived another Christmas! When you become a college student, your Christmas list changes drastically from when you were a child. If you are trying to compile a list to give to friends, family or professors, here are a few items that you should consider for Christmas 2016 that will service as the perfect gift for a college student:
1. Food
When I’m not eating the lovely food prepared in the dining halls, I’m stuck with Ramen Noodles or some other cheap food that supplies absolutely no nutrients. Buying a college student food will save them the little money that they have and possibly provide them with the nutrition they lack.
2. Good grades
I’m aware that good grades cannot be given by a friend or family member, but it’s what all college students want. After surviving finals we all just want to know, “Did we pass or fail?” If a professor wants a great review on Ratemyprofessors.com, they should pay attention to this gift choice. (Attention professors: This is completely unethical, do not do it. Your students would love you for it, but your bills will not once you get fired).
3. Good GPA
This one pretty much has the same standards are the good grades gift. Think of it as a two in one gift: good grades equal a good GPA.
4. Money
#BrokeCollegeStudent is real. I find so much joy in getting money from my parents or other family members. Plus, if we have money we can buy food (or we can save the money and you buy us food).
5. New tech device
Because I am team Android, I would love a Samsung Galaxy S6 for Christmas. Team iPhone users who still do not have the latest iPhone want the new one or an Apple Watch. Video game players would love the new Xbox One. Also, let’s not forget about the air walkers that have become super popular recently. We all need some device that will distract us and provide momentary happiness until we are bombarded with tests and papers again.
6. Netflix subscription
Netflix, the cause of most college students’ procrastination. Sometimes you just have to finish ten episodes of "Gossip Girl" before you study for an exam. Paying for a Netflix subscription will keep a little money in our accounts (honestly the money will probably go to food).
7. Spring Break trip
Entering my last two semesters of college, it is sad to say that I have never been on a spring break trip. This will be the perfect gift for someone who doesn’t travel much due to low funds or someone who loves to travel.
8. Pay for textbooks
I don’t know about everywhere else, but at my university textbooks are insanely expensive. Paying for one textbook would be so much help for a college students. Plus, it will leave more money for food.
9. Pay for tuition
Yeah, I possibly went too far, but it would be super generous.
10. A degree
This is definitely far fetched, but it is truly what all college students want in the end.
