10 Christian Love Songs that Will Warm Your Heart
Amber McCarty

Sometimes you get in that mood where all you want to do is to listen to love songs. It’s typical of any girl to have that phase a few times a year. The thing is, though, most musicians nowadays write love songs that are inappropriate and portray love in such a skewed way. So I decided to search for some Christian love songs that exemplify how we should love others and what true love should be like. So here’s a list of my top ten love songs that will make you believe in love again:

1. Hide Your Love Away by Anthem Lights

I first heard this song at the This Is Love Tour when I was a freshman in high school and I immediately fell in love. This song exemplifies how waiting is not shameful, but, rather, a rewarding experience. We must hide our love and not hand it out like it’s something free. Instead, hold onto it and guard it until you find the one.

2. When God Made You by Newsong (w/ Natalie Grant)

This song is beautiful in every way. So many people talk about how we walk upon this earth searching for our second half, and this song makes us question what God had planned when he created our other half and if He knew everything that we would need and dream about in a partner. It gives us hope that God made someone for us to be with forever.

3. I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman

This is a promise that everyone should give to their loved one. To always be there for them in the good and the bad. To always be there for them no matter what may happen in the future. God created us to love those around us and this promise is exemplifying that that's what we were made to do.

4. Unfailing Love (Kelly’s Song) by Jimmy Needham

This is such a cute, feel-good song. It shows that your love should not be moved no matter the circumstances, and that, within a relationship, the two of you should be walking with God and making Him the center of your relationship.

5. Hundred More Years by Francesca Battistelli

This is one of the cutest songs I have ever heard. This song tells the story of a girl finally marrying the man of her dreams. The future looks so bright and God could not be more happy for these two whom He made for one another, and they can only hope to live for a hundred more years together.

6. Love is Not a Fight by Warren Barfield

This song is about how love should not become a constant fight, rather, it should be a safe place-- a home that we never leave. A relationship should not be a constant struggle to keep, but a commitment that we continually try to improve.

7. When I Say I Do by Matthew West

“I do” will most likely be the two most important words you say in your life. They exemplify a promise that lasts forever. And when you say them, you should mean them completely and wholeheartedly. This song shows that love that should be sure and that you must mean what you say when you say, “I do.”

8. A Page Is Turned by Bebo Norman

This song is a story of a boy and a girl growing up, and, through every trial and circumstance, God is preparing them for one another. It is a song that gives us hope that God is preparing the one for us and is still writing our love story.

9. Love Will Be Enough For Us by Brandon Heath

This song is a beautiful portrayal of what this man wants for his future life with his wife. And it makes us hope for the same thing. It shows that a simple life will be beautiful, and the love that they have for each other in this beautiful, simple life will be enough because, no matter what we face, if we’re with the one we love, life will be the most beautiful thing ever.

10. My One Safe Place by Andrew Peterson

This is one of my current favorite songs that shows the safety that is felt with the one you love. It reveals how God brought them together and how the safest place they will ever be is with their loved one. Whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual safety, that safety you feel is the best thing to have with a partner. They’re your best friend and your one safe place.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
