9 Chicagoland Burgers You Need...Like Now

Because life is too short to go a week without a burger.

Burgers are the way to my heart and I don't think I'm alone on that one. Well thank God I live in Chicago, a burger wonderland. Because of my love for these unreal sandwiches, I have made it my life's mission to find the best burgers in the Chi-Town area. Try these and I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

1. Au Cheval - West Loop

This restaurant is famous for its amazing burgers. With its awesome location in West Loop, stopping by Au Cheval is a perfect place to get a bite to eat. These burgers simply put others to shame.

2. Kuma's Corner - Lincoln Park, Logan Square

Literally salivating thinking about Kuma's. It's a Chicago staple -- if you ask someone where to get a good burger, Kuma's will most likely be on the list. It ain't your classic restaurant either: think hard rock with the heavy metal music blasting in your ear. You can't really have a conversation, but you don't need to. The burger and the mac n' cheese do all the talking.

3. DMK Burger Bar - Lakeview, Navy Pier, Soldier Field, Lombard

Warning: will melt in your mouth. DMK has burgers for every different type of burger lover out there. You can keep things classic with a double-patty with special sauce, or spice things up, literally, with roasted hatch green chile, fried farm egg, sonoma jack, and smoked bacon. Oh and while you're there, might as well treat yourself to one of their bomb milkshakes. Lucky Charms milkshake? Uh, yes please.

4. Bill's Drive-In - Evanston

This place is a hidden gem. Like very hidden -- you could drive past it and not even realize the savory goodness your stomach is missing. If you're into thin, greasy burgers with minimal toppings, and you don't need that fancy ambiance, Bill's is for you.

5. Lady Gregory's Irish Bar and Restaurant - Andersonville

A personal favorite. This isn't one of those places you'll be directed to if you're looking for a good burger, but it really should be. The burger selection is limited but the rest of the menu is amazing. The selection they do have will satisfy every burger craving you got. And the fries -- seriously to die for.

6. Charlie Beinlich's - Northbrook

Ah, a North Shore classic. This place is frozen in the 1970's which gives it the classic charm that has brought in burger lovers for years. The family friendly vibe adds some extra comfort to the already comfortable experience of downing a burger and fries.

7. Chuck Wagon - Wilmette

Yet another North Shore classic. This is more of a, "I'm craving a burger but I don't want to go through the process of traveling far to get one" type of place. Chuck Wagon has fireGyros, which obviously you have to get on your burger or like...why even go?

8. Edzo's Burger Shop - Evanston

These burgers are bursting with flavor. They stick with the simple "single", "double" and "triple" patties with the generic toppings, but their straightforward approach never gets old. Their cheese fries are unreal and their milkshakes are worth the trip, too. Oh and PSA: they have a BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger for a limited time only that you must try. Head over there now. Why waste any time?

9. Michael's - Highland Park

Now this may not be a place you consider when you're on the search for an unreal burger, but it sure ain't bad. The burgers are good and the fries just make it all that much better. If you like cheese fries, get at least two orders. You'll finish 'em before you can even say "yum."

Next time you're in the market for a lil "treat yo-self" day, hit up one of these burger joints and trust me -- they won't disappoint.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
