10 Characters You Get Emotionally Attached To

Netflix is a service commonly used in society due to the variety of television shows and variety of characters that exist within the shows. There's always the one character who can be found across different programs. A character who is popular is the one who viewers, often without noticing, seem to find themselves overly emotionally attached to. Below is a list of ten male characters that we just can't seem to stop talking about.

1. Chuck Bass

Though I am personally more of a Nathan Archibald girl, Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl is the boy that started it all. All throughout high school, girls of all grade levels raved about the rich boy from New York. He drew them in with his romance, impulsiveness, and memorable liners.

2. Lip Gallagher

Every girl wants a bad boy to like. Thanks to Shameless, Lip Gallagher is that bad boy. He's intelligent, witty, and isn't afraid take one for the team. Similar to the show above, I've only seen one or two episodes. However, I've seen enough to know just why so many girls are in love with him.

3. Finn Hudson

In Glee, football superstar and show choir captain Finn Hudson showed that it doesn't hurt to try something different and step out of the comfort zone. He followed his heart and influenced others to do so as well, which made the "Quarterback" episode that much more heartbreaking.

4. Stefan and Damon Salvatore

Why have one when you can have both? When I watched The Vampire Diaries, I was constantly switching teams. I yelled when Elena proclaimed her love for Stefan Salvatore in the tenth episode of the show, and I yelled even more when she did the same for his brother. By the end of the show, I was on Team Damon, but I was still yelling at everything the two of them did because they're just so hard not to love.

5. Tate Langdon

Just like the Salvatore brothers, it's hard to pick just one of Evan Peter's characters to drool over. American Horror Story is filled with many, from Kip Walker to James Patrick March. However, it's hard to shake the teenage boy that started it all for him in the show - Tate Langdon. Though he may be a bit abnormal, he is dedicated and cares about those close to him even if it's a bit overwhelming. Besides, living with an attractive ghost might be sort of fun.

6. Nick Miller

Everyone has a sarcastic side, and Nick Miller from New Girl is everyone's side embodied into one individual. He's awkward, he's goofy, and he is just a big kid trying to adult his way through his thirties. It's hard not to get attached to someone so relatable.

7. Nathan Scott

One Tree Hillis a show I have seen very few episodes of, but I've seen enough to know why people get hooked on the series. Watching Nathan Scott - one of the male protagonists - evolve from a high school tool to a mature young man makes every female audience member feel like a proud mom.

8. Andy Dwyer

Similar to the other comedians on the list, viewers can't help but connect with the goofball from Parks and Recreation. He's a man of many sides and jobs, from shoe shiner to Burt Macklin. His escapades keep us on our toes, making us hard to exit out of Netflix in the middle of the night.

9. Jim Halpert

Jim, Jim, Jim. The beloved prankster from The Office is almost just as awkward as Nick Miller. However, that doesn't stop anyone from getting too attached to his antics. From the first time he put he put his coworkers stapler in gelatin to his proposal to Pam, we fell in love with him the same way Michael Scott fell in hate with Toby.

10. The Grey's Anatomy Male Cast

There's no need to explain the final member(s) on the list. Everything they do makes us laugh, cry, and scream in frustration. Take my advice and don't get attached to all of the men, let alone one of them.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
