We all get that feeling every now and again of being sick and tired of school work and wanting much more to be lying in bed watching a new Netflix series. Lame. Next time you feel like slacking, think of all these super-cool people that went to the very school you are attending right now and what they did with their lives. Maybe 10 years down the line someone will be writing an Odyssey article about your awesome accomplishments.
Now, get up off the couch and start some big company.
1. Kenneth Langone: Co-founder of Home Depot and former director of the New York Stock Exchange. We can thank him for our tools, home improvement supplies and our student center.
2. Kunitake Ando: Former president and COO of Sony Corporation. You know, the company that makes all your favorite movies, music and big screen TVs? Yeah, that guy went to your school.
3. Leslie Moonves: President and CEO of CBS. So, while you're binge-watching "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory," remember that the guy responsible for their existence is a former Bison.
4. Alan Stillman: Founder of TGIFridays and Smith & Wollensky. Thanks to this guy we get endless appetizers and cheap cocktails. Also, Anne Hathaway was able to go get Miranda Priestly her steak lunch in "The Devil Wears Prada."
5. J.C Spink & Chris Bender: Co-producers of many popular New Line Cinema movies including "American Pie" and "The Hangover." They also produced "We're the Millers,"so these college buddies definitely have "no ragrets" when it comes to their career choice.
6. Edward Hermann: Actor best known for playing Rory's grandfather on "Gilmore Girls." So, thank you very much to this alum for providing us with hours worth of entertainment on Netflix.
7. Garrett Neff: Supermodel and former face of Calvin Klein's men's fragrance. Just like you, he recieved a fulfilling education from Bucknell, so he knows that there is more to life than being ridiculously good looking.
8. Bill Westenhofer: Winner of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2008 for "The Golden Compass" and 2013 for "Life of Pi." He's only one Oscar away from tying with Meryl Streep, which is super-impressive.
9. Christy Mathewson: Former pitcher for the New York Giants and one of "the first five" members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. He also ranks in the all-time top 10 in major pitching categories including wins, shutouts and ERA. Ironically, he is also who our football stadium is named after.
10. Mike Muscala: Power forward/center for the Atlanta Hawks. I'm sure all my fellow seniors remember what Bucknell basketball games were like when he was the star player back in 2013. Moose ears everywhere.
