As you all probably know by now, I'm obsessed with music, regardless of its origins, but my true loves in music come from Bollywood and from the West. So when I found out that there was a subcategory of remixes that combined my two favorite origins of music I went crazy. I searched and searched until I found what I think are the best ones. So brace yourself, things are about to get lit.
1. Punjabi Clique by: Dr. Srimix
If you always thought bhangra music could never mix with rap think again. This remix is so ready to rock your world and make you question every impression of remixes you've ever had.
2. Sanam Teri Low Life by DJ PRNU
One thing I've realized as I scoured Soundcloud for more and more mixes is that it is extremely difficult to find smooth remixes. In terms of combining two songs, this remix takes the gold. I've never heard something so smooth.
3. Barso re x Naughty Boy by MWB
This mix takes an emotional song (No One's Here to Sleep by Naughty Boy feat. Bastille) and somehow adds so much more to it by mixing it with a classic, Barso Re.
4. Thrift Shop Hai Mast Mast by DJ K
Out of all of the songs, this one surprised me the most. Never would I have thought that Thrift Shop could transform into something that would be perfect to do Bhangra with.
5. Malhari x Panda by Deejay Dev
I'm not gonna lie, I have very mixed feelings about this remix. Sometimes I feel like it works perfectly and other times I feel like something is missing, but either way there must be something good about it for me to have it on repeat for a solid hour.
6. Nagada Sang Cyclone by GFlow
Nagada Sang Dhol has quite possibly the best beats ever. And then there's Cyclone that we 90s kids have always been obsessed with. So what happens when you put them together? Magic.
7. Chains x Ang Laga De by sTIKer Productions
Ang Laga De is a song that gives such mysterious vibes, and when combined with the emotional pain from Chains, there's a new song that is quite honestly stunning.
8. Ram Ciara Leela by Dr. Srimix
Combining a bollywood song with anything by queen Nicki Minaj? Insta-love.
9. Kabhi Jo Hotline Bling by AnaKonda
The melodies in this song mesh so beautifully. It'll make you want to play it on repeat for hours on hours (and maybe even a couple days if you're me).
10. The Hills (Aashiqui Remix) by Jai Matt feat. Dr. Srimix
We all know that The Hills by The Weeknd is filled with so much emotion and then we have the song Tum Hi Ho which is known for exquisitely describing the pain and yearning that stems from love. Put them together, and we get a masterpiece.
