Black people, especially black women do not get the credit they deserve when it comes to changing the world. Not only have the women on this list helped change America but, some of them have done everything in their power to change other countries also.
Michelle Obama
Former First Lady of the United States or not but, Michelle Obama is one of the most influential black women there is. She is an advocate for poverty awareness, women's rights, and also health and fitness. No matter where she goes in life, I'm sure she will continue to make a difference and do everything she can to help our country.
Oprah Winfrey
From talk show host to philanthropist to spiritual leader. Oprah Winfrey can handle any stone the world throws at her. She is the very first African-American to rank amongst 50 of the most generous Americans. Oprah has given hundreds of millions of dollars to multiple charities and even though she may not flaunt everything that she does, she is still giving and changing the world.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
I absolutley love Chimamanda! Most people only know her from Beyoncé's song "Flawless", but I seriously used to watch every TEDtalk she would make. Chimamanda is a writer and public speaker that shares her thoughts on feminism, politics and race. She stands up for women's rights and African-American's rights. She doesn't hold her tongue and she is determined to change the world, one step at a time.
Beyoncé
The infamous "Queen B". I mean, who doesn't love a little Beyoncé every now and then? Famous or not, Queen B uses her platform to spread a word. She is an activist for black lives and also women. The queen herself has made a difference and will continue to make a difference.
Dr. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey
Dr. Lavizzo-Mourey is the President and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She is the first woman and also black woman to be the leader of a foundation. This foundation is also one of the largest health/healthcare foundatons. No matter if you have ever heard of this foundation or not, it is truly an inspiration to know that Dr. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey is the first black women to be a leader of such a powerful foundation. This teaches little black girls that they can do anything she put their mind to.
Alicia Garza
An activist for black lives, Alicia Garza has been one of the most unknown influential people over the last few years. She is one of the co-founder's of the Black Lives Matter Movement, which is a movement for all black people to come together and attempt to stop racial violence.
Loretta Lynch
Shoutout to Loretta Lynch who is from Greensboro, North Carolina! Lynch was the first African-American woman to become a U.S. Attorney General. She has traveled all over our country to investigate many crimes and raise awareness for many different topics.
Angela Davis
Still till this day, Angela Davis is a Civil Rights activist, women's rights activist, and writer on oppression topics. 73 years young and she is still standing up for what she feels is right. Just a few weeks ago, she spoke at the Women's March! I mean, this woman is a true fight and the ultimate definition of someone who will never give up.
Beverly Bond
It's always great to have amazing people on your side. Beverly Bond is the founder of the organization "Black Girls Rock!", which is a foundation that highlights the great things that black girls do. From the beginning, the foundation was only three words on a t-shirt and later became the big thing that it is today.
Helene Gayle
Helene Gayle is a very powerful black woman that raises her voice on multiple topics like health and women's issues. She continues to help not only American's, but she helps Asians, Latin American's, and African's. She has founded organizations that will help African's build finances that should last over the next few years, and she has organized foundations that will teach girls around the world leadership skills. Gayle is truly an inspirational woman.
