Approaching the last few weeks of summer break, Netflix binge watching is at an all time high as we prepare for syllabus week and kiss our long lazy days goodbye. Since I don't have cable, Netflix is my best friend and I constantly have it on, even if it is just background noise. So sit back, relax and binge watch away your last few weeks of Summer Sixteen.

1. Comedy: New Girl

Jess moves in with 3 guys in their mid-to-late 20's who have been friends for a while. Throughout the 4 seasons, Jess slowly figures out all the weird quirks of her roommates. The 4 of them face broken hearts, embarrassing pasts and awkward situations together.

2. Comedy: Friends

This group of six makes your best buds seem boring. The 90's sitcom follows them as they figure out living in New York. From Central Perk to the purple apartment, you are guaranteed to giggle at the sticky situations they find themselves in. From season 1 to season 10, the gang takes on adulthood, showing the reality of how messy it can actually get.

3. Documentary: High Profits

CNN shows the journey of medical marijuana in Breckenridge, CO with 1 season. Breckenridge Cannabis Club fights for their spot on Main Street facing city residents, other Main Street shop owners and city counsel members who want their shop to be moved 2 miles away from the heart of the town.

4. Dramas: One Tree Hill

Head cheerleaders, high school basketball stars and twisted family feuds keep you on the edge of your seat. Although the 9 seasons is kind of broken into 2 parts, it is entertaining all the same. The second part of the series (seasons 7-9) was a different kind of drama, less sappy high school drama like the first part (seasons 1-6) and more just straight... Drama.

5. Drama: Grey's Anatomy

While Dr. Meredith Grey completes her residency at Seattle Grace Hospital, she finds herself living in her mother's shadow. With the help from McDreamy and her friends, Dr. Grey works to define herself. Seattle Grace Hospital and its Doctors stand up against tragedy, financial scares and uncountable amounts of surgeries with 12 seasons on Netflix.

6. Cartoon: Bobs Burgers

Just like you would expect from any adult cartoon, the humor isn't appropriate for little ears. Bob runs his burger joint with the help of his wife and 3 kids. While Bob's family causes chaos in the restaurant and in their home, Bob fights to have the best restaurant against his rivals, Hugo and Jimmy Pesto, for 5 seasons (so far).

7. Crime: Breaking Bad

When Walter White is staring cancer in the eye, the high school chemistry teacher starts making high quality meth for extra money to leave his family if his cancer kills him. With help from his former student: Jesse Pinkman, Walter aka Heisenberg, takes over the meth market of New Mexico, while keeping the secret from his family. He even avoids the DEA searching for the master mind called 'Heisenberg.' Heisenberg dodges the DEA for 5 seasons.

8. Romance: The Vampire Diaries

Say goodbye to the vampires you came to know in Twilight. The Salvador brothers fight for Elena's love, and battle a variety of magical creatures to keep her alive. Evil doppelgangers, hot vampires, dangerous werewolves and strong witches all together in a small historical town, what romance could come of that? Although the whole series isn't on Netflix yet, the 6 seasons that are will leave you thirsty for more.

9. Action: The Walking Dead

Ever wonder what the world would look like if there was a zombie apocalypse? After waking up from a coma to the apocalypse, Rick, his family, and his friends fight for their lives while trying to stay safe from the crawlers for five seasons. Instead of the human race (or at least what is left of it) coming together to create a new society, they turn against each other, feeding views action from more than just the zombie.

10. Netflix Original: Orange is the New Black

Filled with women that come from a variety of backgrounds, walls of the women's prison hold more than just criminals. While seeing how each character's past made them the way they are, the show teaches you that there is more than meets the eye to the inmates in this prison. The 4 seasons of OITNB almost convince you that prison really wouldn't be that bad.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
