We are all guilty of spending too much time on Netflix. We all find this website as our hiding place when we want to spend time avoiding our responsibilities rather than actually aiding to them.
Luckily, the summer provides us with enough time to finish several shows. Netflix and Hulu have hundreds of series, big and small. Sometimes, all you want to do is cuddle up to your couch and indulge in a whole series. If you’re looking for one to watch, here are a few suggestions.
Desperate Housewives (8 seasons on Hulu)
This is the show I am currently watching with my mom. We have already seen it before, but it never gets old. It is jam packed with drama, romance, mystery, and a few funny lines. The characters have their relatable traits and moments, which makes the show even better to watch.
The Walking Dead (5 seasons on Netflix)
Although I’ve never seen this show, I’ve heard that it is addictive. I hear fans, including my dad, rave about this show and the intensity that it brings. It is no question people are addicted to watching it. If you start on it now, you may be able to finish in time for the release of the next season.
Orange is the New Black (4 seasons on Netflix)
My parents and many of my friends are in love with this show. Although I have not watched it myself, I know that people are addicted. I see "OITNB" promos and videos all over social media. It is obviously worth trying out!
Parks and Recreation (7 seasons on Hulu and Netflix)
This is one of my personal favorites. I am in the middle of watching this series and I cannot get enough. It is filled with all of my favorite things: comedy, politics, drama and romance. All of the characters are relatable and have their own quirky traits. It is the type of show you could watch over and over.
Pretty Little Liars (6 seasons on Netflix)
When I started watching this show years ago, I got hooked instantly. The plot has a seemingly never ending mystery. It is hard to quit when you need to know the answer. If you are looking for a romantic drama, this may be the perfect show for you.
How to Get Away with Murder (2 seasons on Netflix)
I finished this show in less than a week. This is probably the most intense mystery on this list. How to Get Away with Murder is a mixture of flashbacks and flash-forwards. Like every other mystery, you are on the edge of your seat. I can guarantee you, no matter how hard you try to solve the mystery, you won’t be able to.
Awkward. (5 seasons on Hulu)
Despite seeming like a show for the younger generation, "Awkward" is actually one of the shows I watch with my mom. Upon watching more of this show, I found myself growing attached to the characters. Although this show has drama, it isn’t as serious as many of the other shows on this list. Since the episodes are short, the series goes by fast and you’ll be wanting more.
House of Cards (4 seasons on Netflix)
With one episode you will be intrigued. Not only with Frank Underwood’s voice, but also with the twisted plot. "House of Cards" does a great job of glorifying the dramatic world of politics and making it even more convoluted.
How I Met Your Mother (9 seasons on Netflix)
This show has so much to offer. I promise, by the end of this show, you will be so attached to the characters. They are so relatable and it is so easy to empathize with them. "HIMYM" is an adorable, heartwarming, romantic comedy. It is so with watching all nine seasons, however, beware of the dreaded series finale (not a crowd pleaser).
Friends (10 seasons on Netflix)
Probably the most classic feel-good show. Everything about this show brings a smile to your face. The episodes have clever titles, the friendship is everyone’s goal, and the romance is what we all long for. Every character has their own unique identity. Everyone can relate to at least one.
