In some places, college football is considered just a sport or a fun pastime. In other places, college football is a religion — the teams are followed to a tee and many prayers are said during those few hours of play. During the fall months, weekends are full of two things — football on Saturdays and the Lord on Sundays. In some cases, maybe the game is so stressful and you just cannot wait until Sunday for worship. Don't worry, the Bible will always have your back.

1. "With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies." [Psalms 108:13]

When you're feeling hopeful at the start of the game.

2. "The lot is cast unto the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord." [Proverbs 16:33]

When the score is all down to the last play in overtime.

3. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." [Deuteronomy 31:6]

When you just need to have Faith that the game will work out how it's supposed to.

4. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." [2 Timothy 4:7]

When you lose, but you know that it was a good game.

5. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." [Philippians 4:13]

When you just know that your team can do this.

6. "I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all." [Ecclesiastes 9:11]

When a bad call has been made and you need to say cool, calm, and collected.

7. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." [Hebrews 12:1-2]

When you need to believe in your team's abilities, no matter who they are up against.

8. "For we live by faith, not by sight." [2 Corinthians 5:7]

When you are losing and trying not to feel hopeless.

9. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." [Deuteronomy 31:6]

When you're nervous for the upcoming game against a very skilled team.

10. "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." [Micah 6:8]

When you're an astounding team, but need to stay grateful and humble.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
