The last few weeks have been quite chaotic, to say the least.
From the Orlando mass shooting that left 49 dead, to the recent bombing in the Turkish airport, turmoil and terror have been streamlining to our social media feeds and news channels non-stop. In this time of great peril, some pray, many worry, but ultimately, I think we could all want comfort in whatever situations we face, whether personal or on a global scale. So, I've comprised a short list of some bible verses that have helped me through my own struggles, and regardless of what/who you believe in, I hope these verses give you something to hold on to when the going gets rough.
1. Romans 8:31
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
2. 1 Corinthians 10:13
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
3. 2 Timothy 1:7
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control."
4. Isaiah 43:2
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
5. Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
6. Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."
7. Jeremiah 32:27
"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?"
8. Isaiah 41:10
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
9. Psalm 22:24
"For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him."
10. Philippians 4:6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
