10 Bible Verses For The Faithless College Student
desiring God

Having complete faith in God is tough. As students, we are constantly being surrounded by new experiences and challenges, and we always have a need to see what is down the road for us, and to be in complete control of our lives all the time. If you find yourself doubting God, and you are lacking in faith in him and what he can do for you, here are ten bible verses I think you should know:

1. Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Even though we can not see God, we have to have faith that he is working everything out for our own good.

2. Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not grow faith.

We must have faith that during the times that God is making us wait, he has not left us, and he will give us the strength to press on. If he is making us wait, that means he is preparing something amazing for us down the road. In the times when we feel the weakest and most discouraged, we should especially have faith in him and his promises to take care of our needs.

3. Mark 11:24

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Don't be afraid to ask God for something just because you do not think that he will give it to you. Have faith that what you ask for will be given to you, even if you have to pray for it for awhile. Keeping hoping, keep praying, and in time, it will be yours.

4. Mathew 17:20

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

It is so hard to give God our 100% faith and trust, because we like to be in the know of our own lives. God wants us to have so much faith in him to the point where we truly believe that nothing is impossible. Think about it: If you believe in the same God that walked on the water and calmed the raging storm, then why do you doubt that he would be able to calm the storms or move the mountains in your life? Always remember, nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible with God. If it's God's will, nothing on earth will be able to stop it from happening.

5. Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Ah, my favorite bible verse. I love this verse because it is such a reminder for me that I have to have faith in God so much so that I will leave everything in his hands, and I will not worry about what's to come. I know he's got me, because I believe in Him and what he has told me.

6. Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

There is such a peace that comes with having faith in God. We become filled with such joy and relief because we know that He is working out his plan, and when we place our faith in his hands, we begin to see and understand his power, and we forget the worry that we once felt before completely trusting him.

7. 2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

In our lives, we will be given many, many tests in regards to completely trusting Christ. When you see no hope ahead, or your situation looks bleak, continue to push forward and fight the good fight, finish the race set before you, and keep the faith. When you come out of the situation in which God was testing you, and you pass the test, you will be so glad that you believed in Him, regardless of what he was allowing to happen to you. He always has a reason for our hurt and pain, and allow him to show you his purpose in everything.

8. James 1:3

...because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

When you begin to trust and have faith, despite how hard it is to continue to have hope for the future, the Lord will give you the strength to carry on. Completely relying on him to carry us will restore our hope, strengthen our faith, and allow us to let our guard down, knowing that we can trust in the one who knows us better than we know ourselves. When we come out of the battle, we will have this new restored energy that would not have been possible without Christ by our side.

9. 1 Corinthians 2:5

...that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

God is the only one who we should place all our faith in. The power of God overrules the wisdom of men, or anything else that man can do. People can not do for us what God can do, and if we place our faith in men, we will continually be disappointed. We will never be hurt, betrayed or crushed when we have faith in God. Where men fail, God prevails!

10. Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.

You heard it here first, y'all. Just from trusting and believing in the Lord, you will be blessed. The first step in our relationship with Christ is to have faith in him. We should have faith and hope in him in every single area of our lives. I know it's easier said than done, but when we have faith to let God have full control of everything, we will see the amazing ways in which he blesses us every single day.

Having faith in God is so much easier than worry or fear. When we begin to replace the unknown in our lives with faith in Christ, we will see how our lives will begin to change. Trust in Him, keep the faith, and despite how unclear things may look, if we have faith in him through the storm, he will lead us to the sunshine on the other side.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
