10 Bible Verses For Anxiety And Worry

Anxiety afflicts nearly everyone at some point in their life, but for some of us, it is an ongoing battle. Thankfully, the Bible has quite a bit of helpful bits of knowledge to combat anxiety and worry.

Matthew 6:34

"Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. "

Colossians 3:15

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."

Psalm 55:22

"Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

1 Peter 5:7

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Psalm 23:4

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 121:1-2

"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth."

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Psalm 9:9-10

"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."

Psalm 32:7-8

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."

The Lord wants to be our stronghold through trials, and he wants us to come to Him. Hopefully, these verses can provide some encouragement and comfort for those struggling with anxiety and worry!

It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
