10 Bible Verses For The Broken
Keith Brown

As the seasonal blues begin to pass, we may feel broken. New Year's resolutions are being made and some have probably already been broken, leading us to feel more and more unworthy and depressed. This feeling of unworthiness is debilitating at times but there is a cure. By turning to God and His word we can see the healing and acceptance that comes from His grace and love. When we are not enough, God accepts and loves us anyways, fulfilling all the things we aren't and putting all of our broken pieces back together. There is so much hope in God's word!

1. Psalm 30:2

When we feel broken, all we have to do is cry out to our Lord and He will heal us and put us back together again.

2. Joshua 1:8

Life is often too overwhelming, but by focusing on God's word and doing as it says, we can become happy and successful once more.

3. Jeremiah 17:14

God is more powerful than any earthly power. When we look to God for healing and salvation He will not disappoint.

4. Proverbs 17:22

When we are sad and our spirits crushed, we must ask God to make our hearts joyful in order to disperse the sadness.

5. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Even when we are broken we can praise God. He will bring us joy and for that, we can be thankful. Even if life is not going the way we had hoped, we can still praise Him for His blessings.

6. John 10:10

The world only steals our joy, kills our hope, and destroys our freedom. God gives us a rich and satisfying life. The world will not heal us, only God can do so.

7. Isaiah 25:8

When lief gets us down, God does not stop fighting for us. He "wipes away our tears" and removes the things of this world that seek to hurt us. God "swallows up death forever." How cool is that!?

8. 2 Corinthians 5:17

When God heals us, he not only fixes what is already there, He also makes us completely new. He takes away our sins and doesn't just cover them up. "The old has gone, the new is here!"

9. Matthew 11:28

Our brokenness makes us wearied and burdens us with its weight. Our shortcomings often feel too big to carry, but we can take consolation, knowing God is big enough to carry all of our troubles.

10. Matthew 19:26

It may seem at times like the sadness and brokenness will never end, and maybe by earthly standards they never will, but with God all things are possible, even healing a broken soul.

So when you feel like you are permanently broken or sad, know that God alone can heal you because He loves you and will do so forever. Turn to God and ask Him to heal you and give you joy. You don't have to stay broken. God can fix you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
