January 20, 2006 was a life changing day for middle school student Alyssa Lambert, as well as Disney Channel viewers everywhere. It was the day that "High School Musical" premiered. I was 11 years-old at the time and Troy Bolton/Zac Efron was the "Ultimate hottie super bomb," as per the words of Monique Coleman.

Looking back ten years, here are the ten best things about the movie.

10. The Fashion

Sequined crop jackets? All cargo everything? Metallic berets and newsboy caps? The unnecessary layering that Disney clothes all of their stars in? 2006 was a weird time, but I'm sure everyone says that about fashion choices a decade later.

9. Shipping Sharpay and Zeke

We were all rooting for you from the start, Zeke. Troy belongs to Gabriella. Why did we never get full closure on this, Disney?

For those of you who do not know what "shipping" is, here is the definition.

8. The Dance Moves that Everyone Copied

Or when they even had the specials where the cast taught you the dance moves? I watched every single one religiously.

7. Chad/Corbin Bleu's Hair

Basically it's own character, am I right? Still do not know why he doesn't keep it this style today.

6. Making the "Jumping" Picture Forever Popular

Or the "High School Musical" picture, as my generation likes to refer to it as.

5. "Exclamation Point!"

My most-used quote of middle school, high school and probably my whole life. This even got some chuckles from my parents.

4. The False Hope that Your Parents would Take You on a Super Sick Cacation Only for You to Meet the Love of your Life and have Her Show Up in Homeroom a Week Later

Just me? Oh, okay then.

3. The Banter between Miss Darbus and Coach Bolton

We all know there was serious chemistry there. Not romantic or lustful chemistry, obviously, but a rival/sometimes best friend kind of chemistry. We all saw it.

2. The Auditions

You felt bad for the girl who didn't say anything and were creeped out by the couple that rolled on the ground, but you laughed anyway. This is my favorite part of the movie. It was like bad "American Idol" auditions, but with age-appropriate Darbus reactions instead of unscripted Simon's.

1. Zac Efron *sigh*

A lot of my friends hated on me for having a crush on him (or obsessing over him), but no one could have predicted that he would eventually become that. Hot. Except me. I knew. #bae5ever

Kudos to my friend Susan for live tweeting the event and inspiring this post.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
