For those of you, that are wondering how'd the internet get a picture of Michael Jordan crying It happened in 2009 during his Basketball Hall of Fame induction speech. During the speech, Jordan was very emotional about his career achievements and the tears begin to roll down his face.

The meme first surfaced on the internet on April 23rd, 2012 but didn't really take off until last year. In the sports world when teams lose a big game the sadness is immediately covered with the Jordan crying face. For example, when the Mets lost the World Series crying Jordan replaced the apple in center field.
