The 10 Best "Halloweentown" Quotes
Disney's "Halloweentown"

October arrived nearly two weeks ago, and everything Halloween has been in store for at least a month before that. Everyone is geared up and ready for the big day: October 31. TV channels are all gearing up, readying their annual Halloween movies. People recall their favorite Halloween movies and begin quoting their favorite lines.

One of my favorite Halloween movies is none other than Disney’s "Halloweentown." I rewatched it recently and wrote down some of the best, funniest, and most heartwarming quotes I found.

1. "You know, the odds were at fifty percent that I’d get a normal sister."

Poor Dylan just wants to have a nice, normal night at home so he can read a book. But, alas, he is from a family of powerful witches and warlocks.

2. "I have my reasons, and I will explain them to you when you're… taller."

Not you're typical ending, but it is absolutely great. This reason should definitely be used more often.

3. "I want that cookie. I really want that cookie."

I'm pretty sure we all feel this way now and then.

4. Marnie: "I mean, nobody around here really appreciates my taste in weird stuff."
Dylan: "Encouragement, not good."

While many remember this line, few might recall Dylan's remark to their mother immediately after Marnie says this line. He and his mom agree that Grandma Aggie's encouragement is not good. His short line can make us all laugh.

5. "Being normal is vastly overrated."

Preach it, Grandma Aggie! Normal is boring.

6. "You can't tell what's in a monster's heart just by looking at 'em. I mean, sometimes, some of the slimiest, raunchiest, ugliest little monsters turn out to be the nicest."

Once again, Grandma Aggie understands. You can never tell what someone is like just by their appearance.

7. "I'm just gonna fill it up and see if the light goes on."

Every college student at least once in their college career of dealing with papers, tests, or any homework really, has felt this way. We all reach that one point where we just hope it all works out.

8. "Magic is really very simple. All you have to do is want something and then let yourself have it!"

I shall not apologize for my many Grandma Aggie quotes. She is very wise, and we would do well to learn from her. If only she could teach me magic.

9. "Whoo, is it getting hot in here. Hades was nothing compared to this."

Whenever anyone feels pressure, it tends to feel hot, but I love the nice little throw-in about Hades. It makes me wonder what this man's life was all about.

10. "Well, then I guess you're just gonna have to come live with us. That is, if you want to."

And finally, a sweet little moment when mother and daughters all make up.

Many more wonderful quotes from both "Halloweentown" and its three sequels exist. Go watch the movies and enjoy the magic!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
