10 Of The Best Alternative Snacks

If you are anything like me, you love to snack! College is full of snacks, and it can be both a blessing and a curse. So, how can you become a healthy snacker? Try these alternatives!

1. Halo Top vs. ice cream

Ice cream isn't just full of calories, but also sugar, fat, and carbs! Instead of all that, try Halo Top. It comes in a multitude of flavors, and it is absolutely delicious!

2. Smartfood Popcorn vs. butter popcorn

SmartFood popcorn is the best snack ever! Not only is it healthy, but there are so many flavor options to curve your craving!

3. Cold Brew vs. flavored latte

Cold brew is a great alternative to those sugary lattes! With barely any carbs, cold brew is a great choice. If you want some sweetness, feel free to add a sugar-free syrup like caramel or vanilla.

4. Dark chocolate vs. milk chocolate

Chocolate is a really difficult thing to replace, so don't! Instead of having milk chocolate, have a square of dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and has even been proved to lower high blood pressure.

5. Watermelon vs. candy

Candy is just a fancy word for sugar. Most hard candy is full of artificial flavors and color dyes. Instead of binging candy, try melon balls instead. These delicious bursts of flavor are sure to keep your body satisfied.

6. Meat and cheese rolls vs. sandwiches

Cut out those carbs, and make some roll ups! There are so many variations of these fun snacks without the bread. Check out Pinterest for some fun ideas!

7. Dried fruit vs. fruit snacks

Dried fruit is full of the same fruity sweetness as fruit snacks without the artificial ingredients. Dried fruit is easy to find at your local grocery store, but it is also easy to make! Check it out here: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/how-to-cook/ho...

8. Flavored sparkling water vs. soda

Pop has an incredible amount of sugar and has been proved to cause some scary health problems. Instead of dealing with the headache of pop, try flavored sparkling water instead. There are many brands and many flavors!

9. KIND bars vs. cookies

KIND bars are not only kind to your cravings, but also to your health! These are made with fresh ingredients, and have the best flavor combinations. Instead of making a peanut butter cookie, try a peanut butter and dark chocolate KIND bar! These won't disappoint.

10. Pretzels vs. potato chips

Cravings something salty and crunchy? Pretzels are the answer. Potato chips are full of oil and artificial ingredients, while pretzels are all-natural. While this salty snack shouldn't be eaten all the time, every once and a while won't hurt. If you're looking for something else crunchy, try roasted broccoli or fresh veggies.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
