Summer is prime time for music festivals around the world. From your local music festival to large ones all across the continents, here are 10 reasons why music festivals are so great.

1. The music

Anyone from renown legends to new artists can be included in the lineup. Festivals are the prime place to hear live music and experience something you'll never forget.

2. You get to spend time with your crew.

Giphy

Spending time with your friends at festivals makes all the difference. It strengthens your friendships and gives you memories to last a lifetime.

3. You meet so many new people.

Giphy

You meet the most interesting people at music festivals. These people are interested in the same artists as you are!

4. The flexibility

Giphy

If you don't like an artist at one stage and there's an artist you like performing at another stage, you can just float around. The flexibility of seeing the artists that you listen to and love makes all the difference. There is an act for everyone to enjoy and multiple stages that make this possible.

5. The food

Giphy

When you aren't running to catch the next set, there is delicious food to buy from vendors. You might end up falling in love with one of the vendors and ordering more and more.

6. Festivals are therapeutic.

Giphy

A music festival will rejuvenate your soul. After dancing and singing with friends and strangers, you will feel less stressed and much happier.

7. You get so much "bang for your buck."

Giphy

You can see a dozen artists at the price of a single ticket.

8. You discover tons of new artists.

Giphy

At a festival, chances are you might have never heard of one of the artists in the lineup. Once you listen to their set, you might fall in love and buy their music when you get home.

9. They give you an excuse to travel.

Giphy

Hitting the road with your friends and going somewhere is all part of the experience!

10. They will give you so many amazing memories.

Giphy

Whether it's one day or four days, a music festival gives you memories that will last forever.

These are just a few of the countless reasons why music festivals are the best. If you haven't been to one yet, I highly encourage you to do so and see their greatness for yourself!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that.
