Studies show that rats feel empathy, and will help another member of their group who is sick or injured.

Rats are very smart and will learn their names as well as any number of tricks.

The first animal in space was a rat.

Rats bond closely with their human companions and get excited to see you just like any other pet.

Rats can be trained to detect tuberculosis.

Rats have been trained to detect land mines because they are small enough that they don't set off the mines.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here.
