Once upon a time, one could easily understand what a singer was saying when listening to music. Those were the days when songs weren't just about sex and drugs. Unfortunately, today's music has all gone downhill and will never be as good as it was back in the day. I will admit that there are a few songs from today that I like, but there is very few. I have taken the liberty of finding ten throwback songs from the early to mid-2000s that were really popular back when they came out. Let's take a walk down memory lane together.
1. "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani
You have to admit that this song is very catchy. The song also has a good beat to it. Believe it or not, I always think about this song whenever I try to remember how to spell bananas. "It's bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!"
2. "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira
She's right. Hips definitely don't lie.
3. "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence
In my opinion, this song has one of those superhero/action movie vibes. Sometimes I feel like a superhero when I listen to this song.
4. "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg
Hands down one of the D-O-double G's best songs.
5. "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley
Listening to this song allows one to let out their inner crazy person.
6. "Umbrella" by Rihanna
I miss the days when you could actually understand what Rihanna was saying in her songs.
7. "Get Your Freak On" by Missy Elliot
This was one of those songs that had several people singing along to it while they were listening to it.
8. "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce
This is another one of those catchy songs that has a beat that makes you want to dance.
9. "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" by Good Charlotte
We feel you Good Charlotte, we feel you. Love hurts.
10. "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton
To this day, I still hear people randomly singing this song. I don't blame them; I love this song myself.
Feeling any nostalgia yet? I sure am. These songs hit me right in the childhood :)
