It is a known fact that college students always have their phones glued to their hands. We use our phones to help us do homework, to help us procrastinate and to help us avoid eye contact with unwanted people. So, it is safe to say that our phones make our lives ten-times easier. We appreciate our phones and the hundreds of apps we have on them almost as much as we appreciate a good home-cooked meal on a well needed break. Here are the apps that every college student should have on their phone.

1. Snapchat

Your phone just isn't complete if you don't have Snapchat. It's the easiest way to communicate with your friends and to brighten their day by sending them an ugly picture of you or a picture of you as a dog.

2. Instagram

Instagram is a pretty obvious one. How else would you prove to the people from your high school that you're having an amazing time in college?

3. Venmo

Need to pay your friends back for that time they ordered food for you? Forgot your wallet at the mall so your friend had to spot you? Venmo's got your back.

4. Find My iPhone

Find My iPhone lets you track your phone when you can't find it so if you have the app and lose your phone at a random frat party, you know you'll be OK.

5. GroupMe

If you hate being bombarded with hundreds of iMessages, GroupMe is the app for you. It's organized, allows you to "like" other people's messages, and best of all, you can send GIFs.

6. 1010

Needless to say, 1010 is the most addicting game in the App Store. Whenever you need to procrastinate writing your paper or studying for your exam, you know which app is there for you.

7. YikYak

YikYak is the best app for letting you know what weird things are happening at your school. If a friend heard some juicy gossip about that hot upperclassmen, she most likely found out from YikYak.

8. Shazam

When you hear a killer new song at a frat party, but don't know what it's called, don't worry, Shazam is there to save the day.

9. Room for Thought

Room for Thought makes you take a picture at a random time each day so when you're feeling nostalgic just open the app and see the collage of your weirdest memories.

10. Domino's Pizza

If you don't have a Domino's Pizza account by now, then you're probably doing something wrong. What's better than an app that brings pizza right to your dorm?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
